Located 50 miles from midtown Manhattan (approx 1:08 minutes) is our brand new campsite located right off the Appalachian Trail. The camp is at the base of Wawayanda mountain right between the iconic hikes "Stairway to Heaven" and "Pochuck Boardwalk" on the Appalachian Trail. Hike right from camp up to "Pinwheel Vista" (named one of NJ's best viewpoints!) At the entrance to the property is the Valley Farmers Cooperative that sells local grass fed meats and artisanal farm goods. You can walk two minutes to Heaven Hill Farm which has plenty of goods, produce, and fun fall activities like pumpkin picking and haunted hayrides. Drive your car from route 94 directly to your campsite nestled in the woods with a great view of the valley. A perfect getaway from the city with plenty to offer. About 10 minutes down 94 is the beautiful town of Warwick or about 4 minutes in the opposite direction is the town of Vernon. Warwick is a quaint small town with plenty of great restaurants and bars, and famous for its apple picking. Vernon has plenty to offer as well including the popular ski resort/waterpark Mountain Creek and Minerals Spa (Located just under 10 minutes away.) The quiet charm of Wawayanda State Park appeals to hikers, campers, swimmers and boaters. Our night in the Tipi was such an amazing and unique experience. Cold weather ruined our original camping trip and I was able to book Lauren’s Tipi pretty much last minute. It was so comfy, and furnished perfectly. She had fresh water, wood, fire starters, blankets, chairs, everything we could possibly need. Even the composting toilet was welcoming. No complaints here, except for the cloudy skies. Thanks again!

What an amazing place. Host greeted us and lead us to site. We were checked on via text once and made sure we were set. After that we were left to enjoy the site and we did! We spent two nights camping on the vast land and even walked over to see the bison one afternoon. Perfect place to get away for a day or two and disconnect.

The campsite is so great for our needs: 3 good sized tents for our families to camp together. They're close enough that the little kids can safely run between them and around the common area but not so close it's noisy for each other. The grills, fire pits, dishwashing stations and toilet/shower amenities are clean, useful, well-maintained and appreciated. As were the badminton net and swings! Loved our second annual trip here.

Molly was very responsive and a pleasant host. Due to a miscommunication we were not at the orchard site so I can’t comment on that, we were at a big open field site. There was plenty of room and Molly provided wood and water and stumps to sit on by the fire. We were very happy about the orchard popup there in the morning to get cider and apple donuts! Very fun stop on pur bike packing trip through Westchester.

Eric’s land is beautiful, with walking trails, a pond, and 3 campsites that are far enough away from each other to make you feel like it is just you and the wilderness. He has farm animals but I could not hear them from my campsite. Peaceful place with no RVs. If you are a tent camper this is idyllic.
