(Autumn is camping season in the poconos, bring blankets and plan hikes for excellent fall foliage) We have 3 camping locations which you can park near with your vehicle. They are all private camps and out of sight from others. Our camps sites are for people that like camping in the mountains and near a working farm. Our farm and the community we built is focused on sustainable living with nature, local self reliance, and kindness. Also, feel free to join us in the fields, request a tour, pet a goat, smell a pig, and check out our DIY home renovation, (built with hempcrete). Pets should not be off leash unless well behaved and pets should not be left unattended. truck campers are allowed if they're under 8 feet. No trailers/campers. Sarah and Stein * Camp Blackbird is a 28 acre property that runs along Beltzville State Park in Carbon County, PA. So besides the camp, there is an additional 3,002-acres of state park to explore. There are a total of 2 sites. The land was vacant for decades and unfortunately used to dump household garbage during that time. We cleaned up the land, built a home and bat habitat. We, Sarah and Stein, always disliked renting a camp site somewhere and then ending up on top of people. So it was our goal to make space on our land for campers like us that want to be surrounded by nature, not other camp sites. A portion of the proceeds from your stay will be donated to bat habitat conservation and bat sanctuaries around the world. We are grateful for the hundreds of campers that have stayed with us. Thank you to all of you that have left a clean site and not made unnecessary noise that would disturb the countless species that share the forest with us. Also, Thank You for patronizing local businesses while you are here. We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake. There are miles of hiking trails a few minutes walk from your campsite. Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling. The boat launch is just a few minutes drive from Camp. In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive. The property is not suitable for parties or events. The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding. The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible. VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party. We welcome pets. Please add your photos! Walt’s Landing marina on Lake Wallenpaupack is within a 4 minute (1.5 mile) drive. The interior campground roads have speed bumps and an owner-enforced posted 5.5 mph speed limit. A leashed pet and a supplemental tent for those in your party are allowed. There are evening quiet hours. There are a total of 2 sites. The land was vacant for decades and unfortunately used to dump household garbage during that time. We cleaned up the land, built a home and bat habitat. We, Sarah and Stein, always disliked renting a camp site somewhere and then ending up on top of people. So it was our goal to make space on our land for campers like us that want to be surrounded by nature, not other camp sites. A portion of the proceeds from your stay will be donated to bat habitat conservation and bat sanctuaries around the world. We are grateful for the hundreds of campers that have stayed with us. Thank you to all of you that have left a clean site and not made unnecessary noise that would disturb the countless species that share the forest with us. Also, Thank You for patronizing local businesses while you are here. We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake. There are miles of hiking trails a few minutes walk from your campsite. Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling. The boat launch is just a few minutes drive from Camp. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive. The property is not suitable for parties or events. The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding. The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible. I would recommend this place to all my friends! The cabin itself was perfect for a weekend getaway having all the essentials needed and some nice extras like the hot tub and sauna. The area was incredibly beautiful and close to a cute little town. Despite some travel issues, we were met with kindness and flexibility, which show how amazing they were at hosting! We also got some very good local recommendations :) we’ll definitely be back!

We booked Brendan’s camp last minute without reading much, so our expectations were modest... but wow, it turned out to be the best campsite we’ve ever been to. The tent has a real bed with sheets and pillows, and we brought our own blankets which made it perfect. They even left us water, and there’s an outdoor shower, a toilet, and a trunk at the end of the bed filled with cooking essentials and other thoughtful items. It’s ideal for anyone who wants a quick escape without the hassle of packing tents and gear... more of a glamping experience than rough camping. The ponds are huge and beautiful; you can make a fire right by the water and enjoy the sunset surrounded by deer and little woodland animals. It’s incredibly peaceful, perfect for families or a romantic weekend with minimal effort. The camp is tucked behind the main house, so you feel completely secluded. It’s only a short 5-minute walk to the car, and Brendan can even give you a ride in a buggy if you’re carrying a lot! though honestly, you won’t need much. My husband and I are used to more rugged camping, and this was such a refreshing change. Everything feels thoughtfully put together with care and love. Brendan was super accommodating with our late check-in, and the firewood bundle lasted us the whole weekend! We’re already dreaming of coming back in the summer for a longer stay. Absolutely the best site on Hipcamp, by far.

Weekend Trip to Clearing Farm
Had an amazing camping trip with my four lifelong friends and my two boys—great mix of old memories and new ones. We hiked to waterfalls, played games by the fire, and soaked in the fall scenery along the river. The cabin was simple but perfect, and the best part was watching my kids jump right in with the crew, making it feel like the traditions we started as kids are carrying on to the next generation.

Eric’s land is beautiful, with walking trails, a pond, and 3 campsites that are far enough away from each other to make you feel like it is just you and the wilderness. He has farm animals but I could not hear them from my campsite. Peaceful place with no RVs. If you are a tent camper this is idyllic.

2 nights at Hippie Havens: A Groovy Retreat
We’ve stayed here twice now with our dogs and had an absolute blast both times. We loved it so much that we came back within a month, and we’re already bummed we won’t get to return until next season. Every extra is worth it - the sauna is incredible, the hot tub with the TV is a huge hit, and adding the Nintendo Switch and projector makes for such a fun movie night on the porch. The food is all delicious and clearly made with care. You can tell a lot of thought went into every detail. There are fun little things to read and listen to, and it feels peaceful and private once the sun goes down. The big windows give you a perfect view of the stars at night and the sunrise in the morning. Shaggy really goes above and beyond. We’ve stayed in tons of places over the years, and this is easily one of our top three favorites. Don’t wait, book it and have a great time.

We loved our stay at the Hippie Haven for my birthday weekend getaway. Everything was explained prior to our arrival and set up when we arrived. Our hosts, Shaggy and Kendra, made themselves available throughout the trip, ensuring we had everything we needed for a peaceful weekend. We utilized the hot tub and projector - and both were left with easy to use instructions. Everything inside the haven was left for us to access with ease. The space they provided was clean, fresh, and cozy! Hippie Haven is the perfect, relaxing weekend away!

We had such a wonderful stay at Cranberry Run Campground! The campground is peaceful, clean, and well maintained. They had a really cool game room. The staff and other campers were friendly and helpful. We loved how close it is to the Sherman Theater. Cranberry Run was a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy autumn in the Poconos. We will definitely return!

We had a fabulous time. The kids found salamanders and all kinds of bugs! The woods and creek are a wonderland. We had rain one night, so instead enjoyed a delicious dinner at Cactus Grill to kill time. The set- up is perfect and secluded. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Hippie Havens: A Groovy Retreat
Everything at Hippie Haven was perfectly curated. Shaggy and Kendra have put a love of love and creativity into their land, and have the clear intention of giving you the utmost comfort, relaxation, and fun on your stay there. Their land is secluded and feels safe, and walking the property at night to visit different amenities (hot tub, sauna) was easy and carefree. The cabin itself was C L E A N and well taken care of. Every detail was looked after, down to clean robes, fresh linens and towels, and even the drink and cookware provided was immaculate and organized. We wanted for absolutely nothing as Shaggy had set everything we needed in place prior to our arrival, and he still was highly communicative and insistent we could reach out for absolutely anything. We opted for the hot tub, sauna, polaroid camera, and firewood add-on. Everything we added made the stay even more magical. My partner and I agreed it was the best air bnb/hipcamp/hotel either of us have EVER stayed in. We’re huge hippies ourselves and it was great to stay in a place that offered a carefree getaway that was also eco conscious, and decorated with care. We enjoyed a fire on the patio each night while listening to just a few of the records Shaggy has to offer - including rolling stones, led zeppelin, neil young, and more. They’re close to a few shops and restaurants as well, but they provide all the tools needed to make a few meals while you’re there. We love Hippie Haven and can’t wait to come back!!

Beautiful property, close to lots of great hiking. Our site at the top of the hill had a great view. We also fished in the private pond and caught a few bass and sunfish. Would definitely stay here again!
