Hikers know that we are located about 1 miles south of the route 9 trail crossing at the Appalachian Market and offer pick up and drop off service from there on weekends. Hudson Valley is a wonderful 4 season go to location and being about an hour away from New York City you won’t spend hours in the car before being able to stretch your legs.

We have opportunities for farm classes, pick your own veggies and more. We also have 1800 feet of access to the Neversink River. We recommend four wheel drive for some of our sites so please ask about them. We are an off grid farm with access to some solar for charging. We have tent sites and room for campers. Located 50 miles from midtown Manhattan (approx 1:08 minutes) is our brand new campsite located right off the Appalachian Trail. The camp is at the base of Wawayanda mountain right between the iconic hikes "Stairway to Heaven" and "Pochuck Boardwalk" on the Appalachian Trail. Hike right from camp up to "Pinwheel Vista" (named one of NJ's best viewpoints!) At the entrance to the property is the Valley Farmers Cooperative that sells local grass fed meats and artisanal farm goods. You can walk two minutes to Heaven Hill Farm which has plenty of goods, produce, and fun fall activities like pumpkin picking and haunted hayrides. Drive your car from route 94 directly to your campsite nestled in the woods with a great view of the valley. A perfect getaway from the city with plenty to offer. About 10 minutes down 94 is the beautiful town of Warwick or about 4 minutes in the opposite direction is the town of Vernon. Warwick is a quaint small town with plenty of great restaurants and bars, and famous for its apple picking. Vernon has plenty to offer as well including the popular ski resort/waterpark Mountain Creek and Minerals Spa (Located just under 10 minutes away.) The quiet charm of Wawayanda State Park appeals to hikers, campers, swimmers and boaters. Forested hills surround Lake Wawayanda creating a restful backdrop for canoeists and fisherman, while steep mountains challenge casual as well as serious hikers. A twenty-mile stretch of Appalachian Trail runs through the park, while the top of Wawayanda Mountain offers sensational views. More than sixty miles of trails are marked in the park.

We had a working dairy farm. Now the property is used for your enjoyment and ours. As well as making hay. We have an 8-acre garden planted with rhubarb, raspberries, and berries on the farm too. We are located next to the Wallkill River which the campsite overlooks. We have 3 campsites available to choose from. Toilet available, campfires permitted, picnic table provided, pets welcome. Be advised we are a working farm so you will see woodpiles, machinery, such as Tractors and other items sometimes hanging around. 3 nights at Destination Farnch
Phoenix Landing is the optimal camping spot for my partner and I (and cat). Though it was just the two of us, we had no issues with the camp site and felt very safe in the area. We decided to camp out there while enjoying Halloween festivities along the Hudson. The forest/stream, on the property is beautiful and there are many trails to explore. We brought our cat who loves walking outdoors on a harness & leash - we stayed very vigilant with her, but thankfully the most we encountered was a buck during our trip (1st week of Nov.). Mike's directions are very thorough and clear - DEFINITELY read his instructions for finding the property at first. He also provides a lot of supplies if needed, especially firewood for a small cost. Communication with him was also very pleasant and easy. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by 1 more day 😊. Overall, we look forward to staying at Phoenix Landing again in the near future. NOTE: Needing a 4x4/ AWD vehicle is absolutely necessary to climb the property if choosing not to walk. We arrived in absolute pouring rain and thankfully our Land Cruiser had no issue. The climb / descent is definitely very fun, but if you have no experience with off-roading, it may be a bit difficult. Take it slow. Cheers! Thank you again Mike, and hope to stay again. 😸😸😸

Great communication, friendly hosts. Perfect fire pit. Easy to get to, right off highway pretty much. We used it as an overnight stop. You can hear the h8ghwa6 sounds but it's muffled and we couldn't hear feom inside our van. Field very open, so if in high summer would be warm but perfect for a fall overnight. Would use again.

We had a perfect time at the orchard! Molly was the best host. She greeted us when we arrived and was always available. She also gave us firewood and water. The farm is beautiful and the camping spot is sequestered away from the main farm activities—it’s great. Would come back again anytime.

Molly was very responsive and a pleasant host. Due to a miscommunication we were not at the orchard site so I can’t comment on that, we were at a big open field site. There was plenty of room and Molly provided wood and water and stumps to sit on by the fire. We were very happy about the orchard popup there in the morning to get cider and apple donuts! Very fun stop on pur bike packing trip through Westchester.

We enjoyed our stay at site 2 and would recommend! Sarah was very helpful and communicative through our 1 night stay. It was our first time bikepacking and it was a great introduction. We took the Metro North train from Grand Central to Poughkeepsie, and then rode mostly on the Empire State Trail and the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail to the farm. Beautiful fall views and smooth riding! The site was spacious, clean, and generally quiet and peaceful (we could hear some other campsites, City Winery, and the town nearby). The hill down to the river is pretty steep with slightly loose footing but we had no problem with it. At night, we saw stars and relaxed with a bonfire with wood provided for an extra fee. Thank you Sarah for a great experience!

The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and it was wonderful to have a fire every night. We really appreciated the provided water and firewood, such thoughtful touches. Weekend Trip to Historic Riverside Farm
I will come back again and again. This was the most relaxing trip I’ve had. There are not many sites to offer private and peaceful camping. We were able to watch blue herons, egrets and geese fly in, in the morning and land on the river. We were able to enjoy yoga and meditation right by the river. We had two partridges hang out at our site for two days that just wandered around and were of no nuisance. Sitting in the swing at the top of the hill we had deer wandering around us. Despite getting there after dark, the instructions to get to our site were easy and after settling in, the owner came down and greeted us with our eggs. Everything is well taken care of. We feel like we’ve found a hidden gem.
