Our house built in 1750s and at one point had hundreds of acres passed down which were passed down from a kings grant The original area was named after the original settlers, the Browns. Set up on the top of our land at New Morning North Farm. You will have your own driveway all the way up to a view in the middle of the woods. There are trails right from your site! We have a small farm with a friendly mule and horse that stay close to the site. Our beautiful tent is currently fully furnished with 2 twin size futons and 2 queen size futons. The futons are stackable to make more room during the day but can be spread out for comfortable sleeping for everyone. There is also a shelf with useful books and a light. A chest full of extra blankets and a couple chairs. Note- Each futon has a washable cover that is cleaned between visits and there are extra pillows and blankets provided but you should bring your own bedding to make sure you are as comfortable as you can be. If you're traveling by plane and don't have your bedding let me know and I will see what I else I can provide. There's a rustic yet clean compostable toilet with compostable toilet paper, hand sanitizer, a water dispenser and a fresh towel for cleaning but there is no shower. There are plenty of beautiful lakes and rivers around to swim in though! There's also a very affordable gym with showers at nearby Colby Sawyer College. There's a fire pit with wood included but this is still camping and you are encourages to find kindling and bring some newspaper to get it going. I will let you know if there are any fire restrictions. Outside the tent we also have a table and chairs and seats around the fire. There is a water dispenser for drinking water on the table and a small charcoal grill. I can refill water as needed. We have a tree house and playground for the kids (sorry the zipline is down right now because we had a huge tree fall over the winter). We are hoping to get it back up soon. Kids love it here! They get the pat the horses and play on the natural playground. If we are around, you're welcome to come help feed the horses and chickens and catch frogs in the pond. Just text me. We also now have two huge domesticated ducks that hang out on the pond. The farm dog Hector does his job every morning and runs around the property checking things out. If he happens to come up to the camp don't be alarmed. He is loud yet friendly. We have a general rule of no dogs but sometimes dogs are okay. Please reach out. We are only a few miles from famous Grafton Pond and very close to Cole Pond, Kolelemook Lake, Little Lake Sunapee, Pleasant Lake, Lake Sunapee, Mascoma Lake and the list goes on! Only 10 minutes to New London for shopping and dining. Tons of hiking close by too! Shaker Village in Enfield is very close and Hanover and Lebanon are about half an hour away. I quick drive from Boston can take just over an hour without traffic.

Overview

Just south of the White Mountains, New Hampshire’s Lakes Region contains lakes of all shapes and sizes. The largest? Lake Winnipesaukee, which rounds off at 72 square miles. Lake Winnipesaukee camping provides access to some of New Hampshire’s best campgrounds, whether you want a secluded mountain getaway or a family-friendly beach retreat. No matter where you spend the night, you’ll glimpse the same scenery—but through a different lens. While Lake Winnipesaukee is the area’s largest lake, they don’t call it a Lakes Region for no reason. Lakes scatter the area and vary in attractions, campsites, and vantage points.

Where to go

Ellacoya State Park

Attention, RV campers. On the southwest end of Lake Winnipesaukee, Ellacoya State Park opens from mid-spring to mid-autumn and offers a range of amenities for your next beach getaway. This sandy beach campsite sits right on the water, with a communal picnic area, playground, and boat ramp. Park your RV, and you can swim, lounge, and gaze at the Sandwich and Ossipee Mountains.

Belknap Mountain State Forest

Not far from Ellacoya State Park, Belknap Mountain State Forest embraces Lake Winnipesaukee from a higher altitude. Hike up Mount Major, and you can spot the lake in the distance. On a clear day, you may even catch a glimpse of Mount Washington. If you’d rather look upward than outward, stroll the nature preserve trails for prime bird-watching.

All through the Lakes Region

Within a short distance from Lake Winnipesaukee, you can visit Squam Lake, Ossipee Lake, and Lake Wentworth, among others. Further out, Lake Sunapee is always worth a visit, whether for winter snowshoeing or year-round sightseeing. If you have a few days, take your pick of lakes—or just go for a scenic drive. It’s as easy to stop for a swim as it is to roll down your windows.

When to go

Lake Winnipesaukee is made for the summer, when water-based activities peak. However, the shoulder months are equally suited to camping, especially if you want fewer crowds and less heat. Think: scenic drives when the leaves change or temperate April hikes. In the winter, many lake campsites shutter, so you’ll have fewer options for Lake Winnipesaukee camping. However, the activities never stall. You can ice fish, cross-country ski, and ice skate throughout the cold season.
