My friend and I had a good time at Dori's place. Her property, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful, and right outside of Ann Arbor. We met her and she explained where we could camp. We didn't have too long to talk but she seemed very sweet. I would definitely return.

My husband and I parked our converted schoolie for 2 nights here. Our camping spot was wonderful- very private, beautiful, flat. We loved our time there. It was one of the best places we have camped on our 2 month trip. Unfortunately, we never met our host, Dori- next time…. (Though her communication was great.)

It was our first hipcamp, and it was wonderful. We paid for an earlier arrival and set-up in the NW corner of the backyard area. It was very quiet, peaceful and we had our dog off leash for the majority of the time. We visited the surrounding nearby metroparks on both days to take advantage of hiking and the Huron River. We walked our dog off leash on the beautiful camp farm property. My wife and oldest daughter visited with the goats, duck, and chickens inside the fenced in pen. The baby goats were so fluffy and soft. It was probably the most diverse wildlife camp I've ever had as well. Coyotes in the very distant crying and howling, owls hoot hooing, deer, a donkey (not wildlife) hee hawing at a neighboring farm, roosters (not wildlife) doing their thing. Thank you for opening up your beautiful property. We will be returning.

Our experience with Hipcamp was a little different than most, I’d imagine. This was our very first time using it, even though our group has been camping our whole lives. We were in Ann Arbor for a concert, and since all the hotels were booked, we decided to give Hipcamp a try and booked with Dori.
At first, we thought we’d be tent camping, but plans changed and we ended up bringing an RV instead. Dori was incredibly quick to respond to any questions and very accommodating with our changes. Her directions were clear and easy to follow.
The property itself was beautiful—set back off a semi-dirt road with a long driveway leading past her home, yard, barn, and a pasture where goats and chickens roam. We parked our RV near the woods behind the barn, which gave us a quiet and private spot even though there were other campers around.
Getting to and from the concert was simple—we had no problem being picked up or dropped off by Uber.
Overall, this was a wonderful first-time experience with Hipcamp, and we would absolutely return just to camp and enjoy Dori’s land again. We’re grateful this opened the door to more unique adventures ahead!

We loved every moment we spent at Dori’s land. So very beautiful and peaceful. We parked the two trailers in an open area at the top of a hill. We were lucky to witness a beautiful full moon and clear skies with plenty of stars.

Open space. We camped next to the woods, isolated, by ourselves, able to enjoy nature. Mosquitos were active but Thermacell took care of them. Very hospitable and close to the city.

Had a fantastic couple of nights at Thousand Suns with some friends and our kids. Was our daughter’s first camping experience and it was the best location for us! Between the amenities provided and activities on site we had a blast. Jordan (who greeted us and replenished our firewood) was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend booking a camping trip here and look forward to returning.

Dori goes above and beyond as a camp host. Her place reflects her thoughtful camping comfort efforts. My camping experience was extra special with hikes through open meadows, winding paths, a wooded area, and farm animals. A great place to reset.

The land was so beautiful- we loved walking the loop through the woods and tall grass around the property. We arrived at the set time to meet the owners who were very welcoming. Their dog did kind of come charging out towards my dog who was on a leash. It was a bit tense at first, but they calmed down quickly and when we saw the pup again later he was very sweet and our dogs got on fine. We used the fire pit they provided and overall had a great stay!

We recently spent a few days at Doris property and it was exactly what we were hoping for. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and very relaxing. We really enjoyed being able to pick our own spot and set up camp in a private little corner next to the woods. Dori was very kind and accommodating and her big dog Zeus was super friendly and got along with our two dogs just fine. We would absolutely recommend this spot to others and we will be back again in the future.

Lovely location and it really is a “spot of your choosing.” There is a large field behind the house and many other spots to choose from.
The port-a-potty is closer to the house.
The host communicated well and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
