Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples." Who knows, you might get to meet a future Kentucky Derby winner. Jug Bay wetlands, wineries, fun little waterfront towns and Bay front restaurants all within easy reach. Check out individual sites for description, each has its own personality. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. First listing actually has several options. For large campers/coach/fifth wheelers the area by the tractor shed will be the best. Secluded and private, yet 25 minutes to downtown Annapolis, 10 minutes to the Bay, great for cycling, paddleboarding, kayaking all 10/15 minutes from farm. DC 45 minutes, Baltimore 1 hour. Jug Bay wetlands, wineries, fun little waterfront towns and Bay front restaurants all within easy reach. Check out individual sites for description, each has its own personality. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. First listing actually has several options. For large campers/coach/fifth wheelers the area by the tractor shed will be the best. Around the corner there's two other choices both with firepits which will accommodate units up to 40 feet depending on your backing/maneuvering skills. Field of Dreams and Sycamore Ridge will accommodate campers under 25 feet with some backing/maneuvering skills. For those with 4WD and an off-road camper/trailer/tent choose Off the Grid, two entrances for easy access, travel along a logging road to an open site with fire pit. Suitable during dry conditions and not responsible for damage to vehicle or camper. Great spot for those who truly want to be in the woods off the beaten path, site takes about 5 minutes to reach due to low-speed access.

My husband, myself, our kids and grandkids all met up at this amazing farm just overnight for a wonderful and rare campfire get together, but wished we had stayed longer. The grandkids loved all the animals but especially Zeus, the big, super sweet dog of the property! The expansive property accommodates RVs well with plenty of space to be private yet camp amongst the animals. Our camp host greeted us, got us set up with power, and told us all about the workings of the farm and all that was available to us on the property. These extras that you don’t normally get at most Hipcamp properties was really cool! A barn with a restroom and gathering area where chili was available the night we were there along with many homemade and local goodies like shortbread cookies, honey, dried lavender sachets and produce for purchase. We happily donated a small amount toward taking care of the rescued animals on the farm. A couple of our kids and their families live in the area so we will definitely be back! Thanks Juanita it was a pleasure!!

Overall a decent stay. The staff at the brewery were confused about check in but we got it sorted out. It was in the colder season so we had a lot of privacy which was really nice. We enjoyed the ability to hang at the brewery/vineyard with other campers and we appreciated bathrooms available after hours. The butter beer and white wine hot apple cider were just what we needed that chilly night. Would stay again but my only complaint was it was hard to find a flat spot to set up. We found a decently flat spot but since we were sleeping directly on a mat on the ground we were shifting/sliding all night- prob would’ve been fine for a RV camper though.

This is a beautiful place with lots of space. We didn't have time to try the wines, but the beer at 1781 brewing (on the property) was excellent. Staff that we interacted with was very friendly. There are horses, chickens, geese and possibly cattle on the property, along with a beautiful pond. Although you can hear the truck traffic on Rt 3, it's not too bad. We had a quiet night to ourselves and the sunrise over the the grapevines was just extra.

The camp hosts are absolutely fantastic. Friendly, accommodating, and generous. They made me feel like family. The Comus Inn restaurant is a hidden jewel. There are lots of nearby areas to explore, breweries and wineries to sample, and the trails of Sugarloaf mountain are worth your time. I plan to return next year at this time.

Weekend Trip to HUNTER'S PARK BY WASHINGTON, DC
Hunters Park at Mezza Luna Farm was awesome. We stayed in the T1 site. Plenty of room for multiple tents and cars. There's firewood for sale right by the site, which was very convenient. There was an outdoor sink at the site, which was nice (though in colder months the water is shut off). There's a porta potty that was very clean - maybe the cleanest portapotty I've ever seen. The farm is beautiful with lots of horses to see. You're allowed to go visit them in the stables. There's plenty of paths to walk around the property if you want to go on a hike. Keith came by to visit - very friendly and welcoming. One family in our group had a couple small children. They did fine and loved seeing the horses. Damascus is very close by - easy access to groceries if you need anything. We'll be back again!

This is a safe and clean area for tent camping. The property is over 50 acres, so other campers are usually not too close unless you choose to set up near them. During the fall, the river was quite shallow, and there was a sign indicating that fishing isn’t allowed. The nearest grocery store is about 9.5 miles away, so plan ahead for supplies. There are no showers, electricity, or running water on-site, but portable toilets are available. The management is easy to reach by phone and very responsive.

Loved the farm so much it was hard to leave. I had to keep extending my stay to check out more of the area. It was very peaceful and everyone was incredibly nice. Hate to let people know because im sure it will be full up when I try to come back, but it is a great place to go.

My niece goes camping twice a year and I hijacked this fall trip. I selected Yates’ site because of the quiet and tranquil surrounding and we were not disappointed. Tucker, Yates’ cousin, met us at check-in with the sweetest dog. We found site 3 easily and setup went smoothly. Site 3 is shady and offers views of the Patuxent River and a nice swampy area below. Loved the sounds of birds, fox…night life. I wasn’t expecting all the Daddy Long Legs and various other spiders. Thank God my niece was there to save me, lol. We brought our own wood, but there was kindling/small branches at the site that we also took advantage of. We played it forward and left the same for the next camper. I would definitely stay here again, just not at Site 3. I think Site 1 is open without the abundance of trees and prayerfully less bugs.
