2 nights at Yurt Glamping Tents + Farm Animals
This was our second stay and we will be back! With a bunch of little kids, the farm has really everything you need to make camping easy. The tent is set up perfectly for just showing up and camping. Our kids loved meeting the animals too!

Weekend Trip to Yurt Glamping Tents + Farm Animals
Sam was great to communicate with, quick and detailed. The yurt was great and had more amenities than I'd expected. The only thing I wasn't aware of going in is that there is only one bathroom/shower available for everyone. There was a large group staying at the same time we were so it was difficult to be able to use the facilities when you needed and without a wait.

My family loved camping in the sunset yurt. It was our first family camping adventure and it was perfect for our young kids. The yurt was very clean, bed was comfortable and plenty of room for an air mattress. The tent was equipped with solar lights, solar portable charger and fan. It was so great to just slow down and enjoy the farm, farm animals, hiking trails, campfire and family time. The pizza night was absolutely delicious, the farm tour was fun and my kids did not want to go home. We are already planning to come back next year to see the baby goats! Would highly recommended this campsite!

Tent and portapotty were very clean. It was perfect for us and our 3 kids. It was great learning about the farm and we still felt like we were having a real camping experience. The wood fire pizza on Saturday was awesome. Great for couples or young families

I brought my 7 year old for only 2 nights and we could have spent several more days easily. We explored the creek, spent time with the animals, and learned about regenerative farming. The folks were kind and welcoming and the veggies were delicious!! Definitely planning to come back.

A mid-week getaway to WHF was perfect for me and my two boys! Sam was so accommodating and shared his love for the land, the animals and dreams of the future with us. We had the site almost to ourselves and the amenities in the family learning center were all we needed to enjoy our short time at the farm!

My kids and I had a great time on our visit. The yurt was clean and spacious. They loved riding the bikes, playing basketball and board games at the learning center and feeding the goats. Most of all our host was so kind and welcoming. Would highly recommended a stay here!

Everything was amazing! The host was super informative and wonderful! It was private and a perfect way to spend a night under the stars! Very romantic, bed was suer comfy and campsite had everything we needed. The veggies were yummy too!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our family. The campground hosts were helpful and inviting, the sites we rented very well-maintained and thoughtful, and the auxiliary facilities (eg learning center) were hugely helpful because we ended up having to eat inside due to a giant rain storm. Would absolutely come back.

My husband and almost 3 year old son had a blast at Rabbit Run! The 20 foot yurt had a bed, inflatable futon, cute inflatable orange chair, two end tables, and a chest with more blankets. Sam was amazing and gave us a fan and some portable battery packs because it was a hot, 90 degree day.
The site is tucked into the forest and we drove past it multiple times because it's so hidden! There's a massive hammock, table with chairs, and a fire pit. We were able to cook breakfast in the morning.
It unfortunately rained most of the night after 7pm, which Sam warned us about. But we stayed warm and dry in the yurt and the sound of the rain was enchanting and helped us sleep.
The Learning Center was a short walk away. There was a bathroom with a shower, some toys for our kiddo, and a fridge for our food. They have pizza nights most Saturdays, but not on 4th of July weekend.
We went on the farm tour in the morning and our son got to play with goats, sheep, and dogs and see chicks and chickens. Seeing him so happy was easily my favorite part of the trip!
The campsite is 40 minutes away from Starved Rock, but we didn't go because it would have been so crowded on the holiday. Next time!
Thank you for such a wonderful getaway, only 2 hours away from Chicago! We needed it.

My husband and I stayed in this tent for a writer’s retreat and had the BEST time writing, but also picking blueberries, lying in a hammock, and petting goats! Sam is super kind and knowledgeable and helped us get in contact with a ride when our original ride bailed on us. I think this would also be a great place to take kids (though I don’t have any). And I want to come back for the pizza.
P.S. We love Frankie the kitten!

Camping in the Paw paw tent was a delight. The location feels secluded and has a mix of shade and sun with a beautiful overlook of a lush ravine. Close walking to the toilets. I highly recommend the farm tour. Very interesting to learn about their regenerative farming practices and to feed the goats. We even got to try milking a goat, too. We only stayed one night, but I wouldn't have minded staying longer. Sam was a friendly and welcoming host and led us on the tour.

Excellent. The campground was exactly as advertised. Everything was super clean and well kept. The hosts and grounds people were attentive and provided everything we needed and more. The yurt was spacious, temperature controlled, and had very comfy beds. There are plenty of trees and grassy areas- each tent site had a natural boundary for privacy. So quiet! Everyone was respectful of neighbors, friendly, and observed quiet time. Cool game room! Walking distance to the canal-canoeing with ease. We would love to return- hands down great place for memories 😀

Sam was kind enough to let us camp in a different tent than what we had reserved due to the extreme heat. All the sites were beautiful and had different views of forests or gardens.
Sam let us feed the goats which the kids loved!
The only bummer was the zipper of our yurt was busted and we were nervous about animals or bugs getting in. We were able to work with it though!
Sam is a great host on a beautiful piece of land. This was our second trip there and we would love to return again!
