Guests will wake in the morning to the lovely site and peaceful sounds of the mostly year round residents including pileated and red-bellied woodpeckers, vultures, raccoons, egrets, ibis, hawks, quaker parrots, herons, bluejays, grackles, crows, lizards, mourning doves, gray squirrels, owls, hawks, and occasional sightings of iguanas and turtles. Nights tend to be dark and quiet with minimal traffic noise. We are pet friendly provided your pet is too! Again, this is in a quiet, neighborhood type setting, just a bit off the beaten path. Welcome to our 5 acre property tucked away in Buckingham Rural Community. You will have direct river access! My family fell in love with this property when we rescued it from disrepair, it was once known as "Harmony Gardens" and we invite you to join us bringing back the glory. Our property is home to all kinds of wildlife, we have cardinals, bluejays, barred owls, herons, swallow-tailed kites, warblers, huge pileated woodpeckers, and if you wander to the water you may see an alligator or manatee depending on the season. Orange River is the river that passes through the highly rated Manatee Park, we have kayaks and paddleboards available for your pleasure at an additional cost. We have typical comfort restaurants such as Cracker Barrel and Waffle house nearby but I would suggest local flavors of Buckingham Farms and Rum Bucket Grill. I-75 is about 10 minutes away so although we are tucked away, most of FL isnt too far for a day's trip.

Honey’s Place is a lovely jungle oasis in the heart of an urban neighborhood. John was a great host and very responsive. He has created a little piece of paradise and made us feel completely welcome. We made trips to Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, South Beach, and Miami downtown. The chickens and peacock were very friendly. We loved this unique place!

Leo’s Campground was clean, well maintained. It is adorably decorated. You can leave food for the iguanas and cast your kayak from the beach within the campground.Staff was pleasant and helpful. Approximately 3 miles to Key West. Full hookups. Laundry. Recycle cans available. FYI you are one block off a main highway behind a row of stores. There is air traffic noise from the nearby airports . We would recommend and we would definitely return. We chose a premium site to get a bit more room as standard sites are just a bit small. Our site had a white picket fence overlooking the pond and fountain. Proximity to everything in key west was no more than 15 min. Visited week before Thanksgiving. Perfect weather, no crowds.

We loved tent camping here! I loved that the horses come up to say hello (although keep an eye on your stuff lol!), it was nice to be surrounded by farm animals. There was ample privacy, the bathroom/shower room was spotless and worked well. Stargazing at nighttime was excellent. Luiz was a gracious host and responded quickly to any questions we had. 10/10 recommend!

The campsites however primitive has some real nice extras, like cafe lights in the trees, near by bath house. A huge plus was bringing an extension cord to access electricity at a nearby cabin outlet. Also a great variety of livestock to watch for entertainment.

Fantastic RV park right on the water. There was a cute little area by the water with lounge chairs and some tables, we sat nearly every night watching boats go by and the sun go down. Directions to get there were very easy to follow, check in was a breeze, the park and facilities were well maintained and clean. Staff were easy to find and helpful.

3 nights at Taste of Old Florida

All reviews were in accordance with what we expected and experienced - we had one overnight stop going south and returned for another 3 nights going north. We were the only ones at the RV side of the pond so it gave us lots of privacy. Lovely people, nice outside shower and no other “noise” than the traffic on the road. But that is just the way it is. Having alligators in the pond made it also exotic for us. An easy spot to find and close to the main highway too.
