Stroll along a rushing stream or head up challenging Moose Track trail to Balancing Rock. After your day of adventure or kicking back enjoy a hot shower. Share your revelations of the day around the campfire, roast marshmallows, or relish your favorite treat as you unwind. Bliss Canyon features 4 accommodations: 2 Gypsy Wagon Campers and 2 spacious Tent Cabins and a boondocking RV site. Teardrop camper sleeps 2 as an addition to any accommodation. The open-air, covered Kitchens have sinks, fresh, potable hot water, kitchenware, gas stove —pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc, BBQ with side burner, critter-resistant food safe, bear-proof trash can, and picnic table outside. We provide a convenient propane campfire for safety since our climate is dry and often windy. No candles or open flames please. Limited WIFI available. There are easy trails on property along the lush stream (the original riverbed of the Middle Saint Vrain Stream), fishing or swimming in the pond (no lifeguard on duty), or challenging trails into Roosevelt National Forest from the property. (Ask Hiker Dot for guidance.) Several National Forest access points, where you can enjoy peaceful walks away from crowds, are a short drive. New this year Bliss Camp is adding a 12' x 14' Glamping Tent Cabin. Bliss Canyon is a spur off of breathtaking, picturesque South Saint Vrain Canyon. Stroll on over to the South or Middle for renowned fly fishing. For climbers, there are over 50 climbs in South Saint Vrain Canyon! Dark Skies: If you like to watch the stars and meteor showers, Bliss Canyon is blessed with dark skies with little light from the plains. Bring your telescopes and explore the Universe. Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin entrance to the park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles. Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. (Advance reservation required for entry 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for main park, or 5:00 am to 6:00 pm for Bear Lake corridor.) Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask Dot for details. The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, lots of great live music, and quaint shops. We suggest you make your reservations in advance especially if you have a group to rent the entire camp. At times there are last minute cancelations which allows for last minute openings. Come experience the high alpine! Our bunkhouse and lot are conveniently located just 1/2 mile from both the St. Mary's Glacier and the Yankee Hill ATV/OHV trailheads. The Arapaho National Forest with tons of hiking is also just 200 yds away! The lot is open and spacious. It faces south and west for maximum sun exposure. Enjoy mountain views of Grey's and Torrey's Peaks right from your lawnchair! Come have a picnic or have a campfire under the stars. Utilize our bunkhouse to crash for a couple nights, to get out of the elements after camping, to give more space for the kids, or just as a mountain hangout with your friends. The bunkhouse, has one full bed, one single bed, and a fold-down futon if needed. It has power, indoor and outdoor lights, and heat, however, no plumbing. An outhouse is provided right outside the door! Use our large lot for overnight parking of your ATV toyhaulers or RVs. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shimza. The cart itself is beautiful woodwork, and made for a comfortable nest. The kitchen, similarly handcrafted, had everything we needed and nothing we didn't! And how amazing to have a hot shower available when camping. Everything seemed fresh and clean. Very pretty property and we greatly enjoyed floating on the creek as well. Will definitely return.

Great place, great people. Accommodations were as advertised. Would go back. Road noise exists, it didn’t really trouble me personally and this place is on the way to RMNP (15 minutes to Wild Basin entrance) so it gets some traffic. But that means YOU have easy access to the park. Dot and Byron are friendly and helpful and have made this camp comfortable AND sustainable. Saint Vrain canyon in the Roosevelt National Forests is itself beautiful and this camp is situated right in it. Enjoy being outside!

Great place. Dot welcomed us and showed us around, even though I was 4 hours for check in. Dot was a great host, gave us local insights. The gypsy trailers are unique, my two daughters (7 & 9) and I slept in the Gypsy wagon, it was great, they love it. Each day we took a dip in the creek. It’s not a big swimming hole, up to your waist, but as far as Colorado goes it’s pretty darn good, a bit silty, but it’s your own swimming hole! That’s fantastic. Would totally recommend, it’s a short drive from Denver, but you feel like you’re out there camping. And it literally has everything you need, so it’s an easy weekend get away . Cheers

We came all the way from Chicago and it was well worth the drive! The amenities were amazing, especially considering we were all the way in the middle of a canyon! We still had AC plugs, hot water for the shower, a working kitchen sink and two burner stove. Beautiful views, the sounds of the creek, and the birds were so calming. The campers were so comfy, we slept better than we did in the hotels on the way there. Swimming in the swimming holes during the day was so fun and kept us nice and cool. We would 1000% stay here again.

This was absolutely my FAVORITE place I’ve ever camped, and I’ve camped in a lot of places!!! All aspects of the land, the facilities and the wagons were so meticulously thought out and maintained. You could feel the labor and love Dot and Byron put into building this sanctuary. The only thing that was wrong was that I had to leave!! I’ve told everybody who asked about my trip that visiting Bliss Camp is a MUST! I can’t wait to return!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dot made sure that we were well taken care of when we first arrived . We stayed in the Shimza shepherds hut and the bed was very comfortable. I want to come back every year - this place was amazing

I love this place! Absolutely peaceful and all to yourself. The place is spacious and has comfy bed. Although I hit my head 😆. My favorite spot was the secluded swing, drinking morning tea and basking in the sun and stars was highlights of my trip. The place has little needed essentials such as gas grill with propane, paper towels and cleaning supplies. Although place doesn’t have water, we bought our portable sink. The portable toilet on site was clean. Oh yea, the place has these big windows right in the front with another beautiful view. The kitchen set for 2 sits right in front of window. Although not best weather we still hiked the trail right behind the house. I can say more but Anyone should not second guess on this place. We definitely coming back!

Weekend Trip to Rocky Mountain Glamping

We (me, my partner and our three young kids) came out for a rainy Memorial Day weekend and couldn't have been cozier and happier in the covered wagon and teardrop trailer at night. The property is stunning and Dot is a fantastic host who has thought of everything. We had a lovely hike on the property, played in the creek, and enjoyed the hammocks, swing chairs and propane fire pit when it wasn't too wet out. There's lots to do nearby in Lyons (library, pinball arcade), Longmont and Boulder if the weather gets bad. I wouldn't hesitate to book another covered wagon or a canvas tent again.

We had a wonderful time at Dot and Byron's campsite. The beauty of the location and amenities made for a restful and fun weekend with friends. The accommodations were very cozy and we had a wonderful time sitting around the fire, cooking, and enjoying the quiet bliss of the Bliss Camp. Dot and Byron were great hosts, they were attentive and have made a little piece of heaven that they so kindly share. I can't recommend this spot enough for a relaxing getaway. Can't wait to come back sometime soon.

This was a perfect location for our trip! There was so much space and it felt so secluded even though the main house is fairly close by. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and the bathroom is close by. Absolutely recommend!
