Off leash is fine as long as they don’t chase the horses (and keep in mind that the mules do chase dogs). There is a gas firepit and a gas grill, sitting areas, a port a potty. There is a flat graded area for tents with a picnic table. We ask that there are no fires except for gas (we are still traumatized by the East Troublesome Fire that was 200,000 plus acres. We did not burn here and we’d like to keep it that way. We also ask that there is no loud music because this is the wild animals’ home first, and the antelope and elk have new babies. We are very close to Granby for the grocery store, restaurants, and the Granby Flying Heels Rodeo. We are nearby to the west entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake, Hot Sulfur Springs Resort, Lake Granby and Fraser/Winter Park and all that Grand County Colorado has to offer. Also close by is Granby Ranch for downhill mountain biking and golf. We are about two hours from Denver. A new Hipcamp site in only its 2nd season, on one of the most unique properties in Park County. With just a single Hipcamp site on a large 40 acre property and no neighbors nearby, you'll enjoy a private camping experience in one of the most scenic locations in Colorado. The property is partially wooded, and there is a spectacular view from the top of a prominent hill on the property which is some of the highest ground for miles in all directions. Upon completion of the City of Aurora's Wild Horse Reservoir in the 2030's, this will be a "waterfront" property. On site picnic tables (the tan colored bench can fold into a table) and a porta-potty are provided. The campsite is equipped with a unique dual purpose wood/propane fire ring - bring your own propane to enjoy campfires while burn bans are in effect. Great hiking opportunities may be found right on the property, and numerous nearby seldom used dirt roads provide exceptional mountain biking opportunities. Close to recreational opportunities in Buena Vista and Salida, as well as Antero, Eleven Mile, and Spinney Mountain Reservoirs. A level site with great access, and can accommodate large RV's and campers. And keep your eyes out - you might just see some Pronghorn passing through the property! Directions from the town of Hartsel: Proceed 2 miles South on State Hwy 9. Turn right (South) on CR 53. Stay right at the fork at 1.3 miles. At 3.9 miles, turn left (East) onto lightly used Shawnee Trail (Note: On occasion due to County grading on CR 53, there will be a small mound to drive over as you enter this left turn). Myself and a few friends tent camped here and really enjoyed it! Camp site has ample trees for tying up a hammok and spots for tents. Location is really close to town while also being secluded which was nice. Met Dan (Megan's husband) and he showed us our spot and was overall a chill dude. Great spot if you are going to be spending a day or two exploring Leadville.

This home was the coziest and most relaxing place to stay ever!!! 🥰Such happy and warm vibes all around even staying on a 40 degree weekend!!! The wood burning stove was so amazing and kept the house so warm! There was even firewood available!!! 😇I brought my own but it was awesome there was some extra! Me and my girlfriend cooked some delicious meals in the adorable, spacious, and well stocked kitchen! It was the most amazing birthday getaway and my girlfriend was so pleased as well! Thank you Lauren for hosting such a wonderful and beautiful home to the Hipcamp/ Airbnb community ☺️ we will 100% be back!!! Our little chiweenie, Mabel absolutely loved the home too! Beautiful property with excellent views! Steve was great at communicating expectations, directions and provided clear information. Outhouse was clean and well stocked. Fire pit with option of wood or propane was really neat, so much so that my husband now wants one in our backyard. We experienced a bit of wind and Steve was helpful and understanding. We recommend leaving the property the same way you enter. We turned on a road thinking it would lead us to the highway (google maps said it was the quickest way to Cottonwood Hot Springs) but it led us astray. Overall happy campers.

My dog and I had such a lovely time at Arthur's campsite! When I originally booked, I had to reschedule due to getting sick, and Arthur was incredibly kind and prompt in his response. The campsite itself was peaceful, with stunning views, and I felt completely safe throughout my stay. I also felt lucky with the weather - it was mildly cold and windy, which was perfect for late September. One small thing to note: there are some small barrel cacti around the site, so just keep an eye on your pet’s paws. We will definitely be back!

2 nights at Indian Mountain Homestead

The accommodations were over the top, and we had the greatest time! Annette and Patrick are super friendly and they have thought of everything! All cookware, utensils, seasonings, sink, water, propane heater, fire pit, and grill, chairs, extra blankets, dog bed and bowls, queen size air mattress, and bedding are there for you. It got down to 33° at night and we were very comfortable in the tent with the propane heater they provide. We did bring additional sleeping bags to add to the air mattress and sheets they provided and it even got a little too warm for us which was great. Also, solar power for charging electronics and they provide lighting in the tent. The view is amazing and it’s so quiet which is what I wanted. No road noises, just nature. The spot is large and you have complete privacy. You really need an off-road vehicle to get up to the site, and be sure to air-down a bit. The road to the Campground is pretty bumpy and then you have a steep incline to their property. I have a Jeep Wrangler and it’s a fun ride up if you prepare for it. Overall this was a great time and I have every intention of returning! Thanks Annette and Patrick!

Spent two nights here on our way to NM and one night on our return trip home. Very quiet and peaceful, and the stars at night are simply amazing. Great communication with Steve, the host. No burn ban while we were there, but there is a nice propane setup in the event there had been (bring your own LP tank). Very clean port a potty, some camp cooking gear, including a pie iron. Looking forward to returning on our next trip out west!
