Little Scraggy Camp is located on 95 acres of an historic 160-acre ranch that was homesteaded by our family in the 1890’s, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This totally off-grid ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest, yet has easy access from a paved road. We offer several accommodations and glamping sites, as well as sites for moderate sized RVs, travel trailers, truck campers, vans, tents, and hammocks. Additionally, we have sites for small groups (up to 16 people) and large groups (35-200 people). Campgrounds, people, noises, regulations, things you won't find here. You will find happiness, peace, the sound of the winds in 3000 year old trees, alpine streams tricking through ancient untouched forests, great horned owls and moose calling into the night, coyote echoing at sunset signaling night approaching, the warm smell of pine and summer grasses, touching the warm rocks next to the stream while you listen to the birds and crickets. I could go on and on, these are the things I see when I close my eyes and think of this place. This site sits at the base of (2) 14ers. in thee middle of a sunken meadow. This is the most beautiful and secluded camping experience you will experience in Colorado. There are miles of 4x4 and atv trails. There are countless hiking trails for day and short nature hikes. Above the site sits bristlecone pines that have appeared in ansel adams prints and are absolutely amazing. The sites sit on 160 private acres which borders national forest. There is a small a-frame tent that's insulated with big windows, locking door, skylight, solar for charging electronics, and a full size bed. The cabin is roughly the size of the full size mattress but seems bigger because of the a-frame roof. Its warm and cozy and keeps the critters and animals out, so you feel safe and comfortable. There are lots of amenities on site. There is a picnic table, 10'x12' waterproof awning and wood deck. There is a bbq, bear box, huge stone fire pit and bucket toilet. The road into the site was graded last year but still has small potholes typical of a Colorado county road, most low-profile cars will do fine. If you have a rv or camper, the turn around is limited, no tow behind campers or vehicles over 20'

This home was the coziest and most relaxing place to stay ever!!! 🥰Such happy and warm vibes all around even staying on a 40 degree weekend!!! The wood burning stove was so amazing and kept the house so warm! There was even firewood available!!! 😇I brought my own but it was awesome there was some extra! Me and my girlfriend cooked some delicious meals in the adorable, spacious, and well stocked kitchen! It was the most amazing birthday getaway and my girlfriend was so pleased as well! Thank you Lauren for hosting such a wonderful and beautiful home to the Hipcamp/ Airbnb community ☺️ we will 100% be back!!! Our little chiweenie, Mabel absolutely loved the home too! She felt right at home and loved to explore the front yard and sit on the cute back porch and sunbathe. Mabel will want to return for another trip as well 🥰🐾💜

The best part is that it is off the beaten path. Beautiful, private spot to hang out with the family and the dogs. Great fishing and hiking nearby. We would definitely book this spot again. Road to the property is a bit bumpy but easy for our Pathfinder and Outback.

Weekend Trip to Marian’s Fishing Hut

I absolutely loved Marion's fishing hut. It was perfect and I loved all the touches. The TV, the small refrigerator and microwave, little coffee maker, and all the utensils, plates, cups and portable electric hot plates to cook. There is a wash basin to wash and to wash dishes. Water was provided, which was awesome. They also provided movies to watch on the TV and the the trundle bed was perfect and comfortable, as well as, the pillow, and the blanket was so warm. It looked like a little cottage with the framed windows, which opened from the inside with little blinds, and when you would open the little windows, there was a nice breeze. I didn't mind the roosters across the way they were funny, and I took pictures of the beautiful horses also across the way. It was quiet. The little fishing hut is surrounded by pine trees and Aspen trees. The little outhouse was so cute and clean, also with nice touches. And the lid to the toilet was painted with Aspen trees!! Whoever painted it is a great artist. I highly recommend this little hut for me and my 2 dogs, it was perfect. There's also a picnic table and chairs outside and a water spigot. I will definitely be back to this little piece of mountain paradise. 👏🏞⛰️

Definitely a nice place to stay at. Clean and simple. Has a TV, DVD player with a good selection of movies, mini fridge, microwave, as well as a mini heater. Has a lot of areas within a short drive to see beautiful sunsets. Has very spotty signal, but thats what makes places like these nice, you have to disconnect and enjoy nature. Definitely recommend staying here. Do note, it does get cold during the nights so prepare accordingly, the blanket and heater was good enough for me.

Weekend Trip to Little Scraggy Camp

Such a beautiful property, sites are spread out plenty of walking trails and hiking in the area, including on the grounds. The cabin was well appointed with all the necessities. I suggest making sure you bring a garbage bag and any other things that you typically like to have at home to the cabin. Plenty of utensils, plates, bowls, spices, and other handy items. The half barrel fire pit was perfect for the evening campfires with s’mores there is also a corner store 6 miles away in Decker’s in case you forget anything. Everyone was friendly. We were able to play frisbee on the road in front of our campsite, which was a lot of fun. Very peaceful in the evenings starting around nine or 10 o’clock until morning time beautiful view of the sky. I recommend if you’re interested in a great camping spot with beautiful surroundings and scenery. Terri is a great host who is very informative with directions and accommodating. We’ll be back again!

Great little spot! The neighbors were super friendly, with horses and chickens across the road. The cabin is a small hut, perfect for a couple and two dogs to sleep comfortably. Staying at Lauren's little Victorian-style house in Silver Plume was a perfect stop on our cross-country trip! The house is clean, cozy and convenient, with a comfy bed (two, actually, but we only slept in one), laundry, TV, and a full kitchen. We chatted with Lauren's partner, who was very warm. Silver Plume is a tiny and beautiful town. We enjoyed walking around and everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. We got some great sandwiches at an excellent local spot called Silver Plume Provisions. Lauren's place, and the town in general, were both dog-friendly, which was important to us. All in all an excellent stay and we will be returning!

William, the host, is a great dude and is very responsive. The camp site is immaculate and is in the neighborhood of some really awesome hikes. We really enjoyed hanging out on the deck in the shade and admiring the scenery. The A frame is cozy. Not too far from Alma if you need to run into town to grab supplies.
