Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Located in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country, you'll be minutes away from 50 wineries. Situated down a quiet rural lane, and secluded by lush California pepper trees, your glamping spot is an ideal getaway for wine lovers who prefer to get away from the city hustle. The camp area has seven spots that can be occupied by other glampers. Onsite parking is available for one vehicle per campsite (additional spots may be available on request). In the morning, grab your coffee and step outside to watch the hot air balloons drift overhead. During the day, sample local vino from the 50+ nearby wineries. In the evening, nosh at one of the great restaurants in Old Town Temecula, and then return to camp for sunset views and fireside relaxation. Camped in the Oak Grove with our pups and it was perfect. Potable water access, clean restrooms, showers (luxury), directions were clear, and the mellow/welcoming vibes from everyone we encountered was a bonus. The goats and pups that roam the property were all friendly and I absolutely loved watching them wander through camp. Little bummed they stayed away because of our pups but glad we walked down to visit them in their area. Hoping to make it back to camp at different spots on the property and pet some goats 🤣. Definitely recommend visiting splitrock 🙌🏼

We’re a group of RV campers - 5 rigs and 1 tent, totaling 13 people and we fit comfortably with room to spare. The camp site is private, clean, and incredibly relaxing. There are plenty of shaded areas to chill during the day, and a beautifully lit dinner space. The Ranch is perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Every detail feels thoughtfully maintained, making it one of the most enjoyable camping experiences we’ve had. It’s clear this place was designed with comfort and community in mind. And then there’s Steven. He’s a great camp host. Very responsive, kind, and incredibly accommodating. Steven goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and cared for. We’re already planning our next visit. This place is a keeper!

We camped at Turtle Flats and had an amazing experience that met our requirements. The view was spectacular from the campsite. It felt like you were in a tropical jungle. The family loved hiking around the property, swinging in the hammock, hanging out near the lake, looking at the wildlife . We saw an owl, egret, turtles, and ducks. We had a 22’ Airstream and there was 30amp available and water hookup. We brought our portable firepit since there was a fire ban in the area. For us it was easy to get in and out. The incline was not bad at all from some other comments. Highly recommend.

I had never stayed at the communal campsite but I was pleasantly surprised by the individual sites being separated from eachother. I still felt I was provately camping. You can hear your neighbors and children playing which is nice or not depending on what type of stay you would like to have. I enjoyed the community feel of the Oak Grove campsites. Some are close together and some are tucked between boulders and in the grove. I stayed at site 1 which has a firepit and is away from the main group site. Next time I will stay in the meadow/grove. Loved it overall!

Our second trip to split rock. This time we stayed at Oak Grove and it was great. The bathrooms are very clean and surprisingly sophisticated. Plus the outdoor shower on a rock was one of a kind amazing and unexpected. Beautiful scenery worth the extra drive from the freeway.

It was our families first time at this campground and it did not disappoint! We stayed at the oak grove communal camp spots and there were plenty of spots available to choose from. I recommend the early check in option to get a prime spot! The farm and goat experience for the kids was a hit! Also the ability to hike or bike around was fun for the family. We will definitely be coming back!

Great camping. We were under big Oak trees so even if was hot weather you didn't feel it also I think there is ocean breeze or kind of wind that make it ever cooler. Great areas. Animals is just cherry on the top. I like outdoor shower and we still had a signal there. everyone liked it. kids want to go back . That is huge accomplishment. Only things is that is for new people confusing to find which spot is available. There are sign but no map around. Second time you will know for sure.

A tree fell in the campground when we were there so I would be careful not to put tents or cars close to bare tree trunks. Pricing is on the expensive side. I think it would be a good idea to offer a discount for large groups The Glamping kits were cute and useful especially for campers that were driving from a long distance All in all we enjoyed our trip

But what to do with the separate lower area, bordered by a seasonal stream lined by cottonwoods and big leaf maples? Cottonwood Creek Camp was the answer. Located in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country, you'll be minutes away from 50 wineries. Situated down a quiet rural lane, and secluded by lush California pepper trees, your glamping spot is an ideal getaway for wine lovers who prefer to get away from the city hustle. The camp area has seven spots that can be occupied by other glampers. Onsite parking is available for one vehicle per campsite (additional spots may be available on request). In the morning, grab your coffee and step outside to watch the hot air balloons drift overhead. During the day, sample local vino from the 50+ nearby wineries. In the evening, nosh at one of the great restaurants in Old Town Temecula, and then return to camp for sunset views and fireside relaxation. You should know that there are two free-roaming Blue Heelers who live on the 5-acre property and make regular visits to the camp area. Visiting dogs that socialize well with other dogs are welcome by us and by Molly and Taz as well, but please be honest with yourself and us about your dog's temperament, and book elsewhere if there is ANY chance of canine conflict with our very energetic pups.
