Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. The land itself is gorgeous. A 5 acre plot with tons of space to hang, and dare I say play, in. Rife with redwoods, gazebos, relaxing Buddhist mantras, an adult playground, and more stars than the eye can see. There were tons of little details that showed just how much Miss J truly cares for this space. Last but not least, the hosts themselves were incredibly kind and approachable. Would definitely come back here!

I can't recommend this treehouse enough! To start off, Miss J was so sweet and gave us a tour of the whole place before we settled in! You could tell she cared deeply about the land and making all of her guests feel welcome! The treehouse itself was something out of a fairytale - the adventure of staying up in the trees, the serenity of the woods, the spectacular views from the jacuzzi.. everything about this place was truly magical. I can't wait to come back and stay for longer next time!

The treehouse is amazing! Such a cool experience, and the entire property has lots to offer - hot tub, playground, outdoor shower, fire pits, etc. Hosts were very helpful and responsive. I believe they were on property, but we were the only guests this weekend and it felt like we were alone which was nice! The “downtown” has some super cute shops/restaurants and there are hikes and activities to do nearby. Would stay here again!

Eagle's Nest Treehouse is truly magical! Lesley was such a kind, responsive, and accommodating host and made everything easy. We loved all the sights and sounds of the Highland cattle, geese, ducks, dogs, deer. We purchased meat and eggs from the ranch and made delicious burgers for dinner and scrambled eggs for breakfast. We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores around the fire pit. The treehouse itself is nestled in a beautiful and secluded wooded area, and is so well-appointed and cozy. I could not have asked for more and can't wait to come back.

My boyfriend and I had our anniversary getaway here. We were warmly greeted and given a tour of the property, with a few accommodation options shown to us. We were taken up to the treehouse, where we were informed about everything and assured that we could text them if we needed anything. The treehouse was really nice and cozy, and the property itself was beautiful and amazing. The communication with the host was perfect, with updates on who would be greeting us and showing us around. I would love to stay here again. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

We loved getting to spend a few nights in John & Lesley's treehouse. It was such a unique experience to be sleeping and relaxing among the trees, we would definitely come back again! The mercantile store was a great way to get to sample some of the food that came from the farm, definitely go check that out for some tasty breakfast steak and eggs. Also go for a stroll around the forest roads if you get a chance, there are all sorts of animals on the grounds. We saw a deer, a skunk, and even heard some eagles screeching in the skies above us. Thanks for hosting us for the few days we were there, it was an unforgettable experience!!!
