Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

We offer quiet campsites with fantastic views of the three hundred acres of strawberry fields that back up to our property. Our campsites provide water and electric hookups and only appropriate for self-contained recreational vehicles and trailers. One of the sites has no size constraints on RVs or trailers. Our Valley View site is limited to rigs 30 feet long or less (not including the tow vehicle). We do offer a porta potty, but not porta sinks or showers. We often loan our State Parks pass so that you can venture out to Point Lobos, Wilder Ranch, Sunset Beach, Natural Bridges and more. Our property is peaceful and restorative. we have a private back yard with 15000sqft of open space and behind level gated parking or level front of house parking. 120v shore power available and water available. quiet dead-end road located on a cul-de-sac make for extremely peaceful parking and relaxing with near zero noise except for the occasional neighbors dog barking. our back yard hill butts up to back diamond regional mines park which is 50 square miles california state park that offers hiking and mine tours from California's coal mining and gold searching days. I recommend the mine tours especially on hot days. The mines are a nice place to escape the heat. tours are about $5 per person. here is a link to the mine tours website. https://www.ebparks.org/parks/black-diamond Boating is available on the San Joaquin River delta that is the headwaters of the San Francisco Bay. the marina and waterfront are about 3 Miles away by the way the crow flies and visible from the top of our backyard hillside. Also downtown San Francisco can be accessed from the property via the Bart train that has two stations nearby. One is 6 miles away and another is 3 miles away. I bike/ train to San Francisco almost daily from this property. EV parking or charging coud be accessed also. we have a nacs or tesla charger at two locations that are sloped down in grade. one slow charger (3 mph and one faster one about 13mph) please make your bookings at least 1 day in advance so we can prepare to accommodate your rig. thank you :)

There are many excellent places to hike, walk, surf, swim, tide pool or just sit and enjoy the view. We offer quiet campsites with fantastic views of the three hundred acres of strawberry fields that back up to our property. Our campsites provide water and electric hookups and only appropriate for self-contained recreational vehicles and trailers. One of the sites has no size constraints on RVs or trailers. Our Valley View site is limited to rigs 30 feet long or less (not including the tow vehicle). We do offer a porta potty, but not porta sinks or showers. We do not accommodate on the ground tent camping or in your car camping. We love to host guests and will provide information about things to do and see in our area. We often loan our State Parks pass so that you can venture out to Point Lobos, Wilder Ranch, Sunset Beach, Natural Bridges and more. Our property is peaceful and restorative. Our sites are about 30 yards apart. You will not have a neighbor next to you. Each camp site includes a fire pit and a bundle of wood per night. We are 15 minutes from the village of Capitola, 30 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz and 45 minutes to Monterey. There is a Dump station 5 minutes down the road at the KOA (for a fee).

Overview

A short drive south of San Francisco, Half Moon Bay is popular among surfers, owing largely to Mavericks, a big-wave surf area off the coast of nearby Pillar Point that gets waves measuring upwards of 60 feet. Even if you aren't into surfing, you'll find something to enjoy here, be it exploring downtown or wandering along the golden sands at Half Moon Bay State Beach. Nearby points of interest include the Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve, home to all sorts of water birds, as well as Año Nuevo State Park, best known for its resident seals.

Where to go

San Francisco Peninsula

Stretching from San Francisco down to the southern reaches of San Mateo County, the peninsula offers miles of forests and marshlands, not to mention plenty of sandy beaches. Although it’s close to the city, this region offers plenty of opportunities to get out in nature, from surfing at Montara State Beach to camping among the redwoods at Butano State Park.

Big Sur

One of the prettiest stretches of the California coastline, Big Sur features a mix of dramatic cliffs, old-growth forests, and ample hiking and camping options, with a mix of public and private campgrounds, a few right along the coast.

Sonoma and Napa Wine Country

On the other side of San Francisco sit the twin counties of Napa and Sonoma, where much of California’s best wine is produced. The area is also rife with hot springs, including Boyes Hot Springs, Calistoga, and Agua Caliente.

The Mendocino Coast

North of Sonoma County, the Mendocino Coast features a mix of forest and open cliffs along with a mix of cute towns and protected state beaches and parks. It's also home to Glass Beach, which owes its name to its massive amount of colorful glass, tumbled into pebbles by the ocean’s waves.

When to go

Half Moon Bay is best visited on weekdays, as weekends can get crowded with Bay Area visitors. The weather here is pleasant year-round, with highs in the 60s most months and lows in the upper 40s, though winters can be rainy. Summers are the driest and warmest, and weather remains pleasant well into October, when the annual Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival, one of the oldest festivals in the state, takes place.
