Our family has owned this property for nearly fifty years. We currently have one site available - “Desert Mountain Scenic Overlook” - at this time. More sites coming soon! Learn more about this site: This campsite is extremely private and serene with beautiful epic views and a wide open feel. The site is located most of the way up a small mountain but at the base of a larger one if you want to hike up to the top for even better views. You can also hike down and around to explore more of the surrounding nature preserve (over 3,000 acres completely engulfing our 20 acre property), which includes a seasonal creek, granite boulders, and miles of hiking trails. You will find wild sage and buckwheat shrubs growing all over the property, as well as vibrant seasonal wildflowers. The campsite is set far back from roads so it is very peaceful and quiet and allows you to feel free to enjoy yourselves without worrying much about noise. The large flat pad is spacious and should be able to accommodate any sized camper/trailer/RV. There is fresh potable mountain spring water and a septic hookup available at the site. There is currently no water hookup for RV’s and there is no restroom facility (we are planning to install a composting or pit toilet soon). Please come fully equipped with a Luggable Loo or something similar. Access to the site is on a maintained dirt road with cutouts for water run off. 4WD is not necessary. Please be prepared though, the road in has some narrow, hilly, curvy stretches. It could appear challenging or intimidating to people with larger rigs. If you have a class A motorhome and are hoping to visit, please message me first and let me know and we can discuss whether the road in will work for you. We are currently in the process of beautifying the area and will post more updated photos soon of the actual site. *Note: Our solar pump went out so the outdoor shower is not currently functional. Also, the site is still a work in progress so there may be some lumber and areas of the site still in the process of being completed.

As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. The site is located most of the way up a small mountain but at the base of a larger one if you want to hike up to the top for even better views. You can also hike down and around to explore more of the surrounding nature preserve (over 3,000 acres completely engulfing our 20 acre property), which includes a seasonal creek, granite boulders, and miles of hiking trails. You will find wild sage and buckwheat shrubs growing all over the property, as well as vibrant seasonal wildflowers. The campsite is set far back from roads so it is very peaceful and quiet and allows you to feel free to enjoy yourselves without worrying much about noise. The large flat pad is spacious and should be able to accommodate any sized camper/trailer/RV. There is fresh potable mountain spring water and a septic hookup available at the site. There is currently no water hookup for RV’s and there is no restroom facility (we are planning to install a composting or pit toilet soon). Please come fully equipped with a Luggable Loo or something similar. Access to the site is on a maintained dirt road with cutouts for water run off. 4WD is not necessary. Please be prepared though, the road in has some narrow, hilly, curvy stretches. It could appear challenging or intimidating to people with larger rigs. If you have a class A motorhome and are hoping to visit, please message me first and let me know and we can discuss whether the road in will work for you. We are currently in the process of beautifying the area and will post more updated photos soon of the actual site. *Note: Our solar pump went out so the outdoor shower is not currently functional. Also, the site is still a work in progress so there may be some lumber and areas of the site still in the process of being completed.

Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year. We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. We are most famous for our honey, peaches and figs, but also grow apples, pears, persimmon, blackberries, greens, bay leaf, white sage and more.For years , we were WWOOF hosts (look it up ;-) and resisted opening up Cold Creek to traffic associated with daily camping arrivals, but we finally found the perfect spots for visitors to park their RVs, spend a quiet night and visit the orchard by foot.We are now excited by the prospect of focusing on expanding our micro-farming and inviting campers to look over our shoulders.

Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Great alternative to the depressing Motels and Hotels in the area. Bohemienne vibe and great for open minded people who are not afraid of experiencing something different. Nestled in the desert hills with total silence and great star watching. Probably best in warmer season, as to be able to use BBQs outside and the pool. Dirt road to reach location a bit challenging if it rains. But definitely a great gem and so close to Joshua Tree West Entrance.

Absolutely incredible. It was the perfect spot for a weekend with my little Ford Maverick and Go Fast Camper setup. I did not have much communication with the host, but I honestly did not need much since everything was straightforward. It was a busy festival weekend, so the parking attendants were a huge help. The only suggestion I have is to include a bit more information in the instructions/getting there section after booking. Without the parking attendants I probably would have been a little confused 😅 so a simple map and some friendly instructions would probably avoid some unnecessary confusion. Not a dig on the site at all, just a friendly suggestion. Aside from that, the campsite gets rave reviews from me because of how easy and wonderful it was to stay in this beautiful western-style town. The animals at the petting zoo can be a little loud at times, but I found it charming and part of the experience. This would not be an issue for anyone in an RV. I was in an RV spot with my truck tent, so tent campers might want to bring simple earplugs since the roosters start early. Do not let that deter you. It truly is a unique and very cool place to camp. The campground is fairly minimal, but it is well maintained, safe, and friendly. Being able to walk back to your site after a night at Pappy and Harriet’s in only two minutes is worth its weight in gold. 🍻 Thanks, and I will definitely be rebooking!

We camped here in our travel trailer for a concert. We had never been there before. We got there right at noon and found a great corner spot in the back. Host was nice and told us to park how we want. Laid back vibe. Easy walk to Pappy’s. Literally no enforcement of rules. We had large motor homes full of people park all together and partied and were loud into the night, running generators and blocking areas with chairs and dogs off leash. Annoying, but we weren’t there for “ camping experience “. It’s a little pricey for a piece of dirt, but worth it because of the concert and not having to drive after. It’s not somewhere to go camp. Town is cute, bars are fun and shops and petting zoo was interesting. We will go back the next time Cody Jinks is in concert.

We are a small homestead/farm just outside Temecula Valley Wine Country in California. Play with baby goats, chickens and rabbits. Explore the property and star gaze at night without light pollution from the city!This was an empty lot that was first purchased in 2014. We are the second owners of the property and want to be as self sustaining as possible. We are on a well and have converted to solar power. We will be building up the camp sites as well, gradually adding more amenities as we go to create a unique experience for our guests.More about me:I had a great and successful career at a very large CPA firm in San Diego but with city living comes pressure and stress. Due to deadlines and even more stress created by the partners of the firm, I ignored what my body was telling me. I put off going to the doctor for months telling myself I didn't have time and, after this next deadline I'll get a check up.I knew that I needed to change my lifestyle but I wasn't doing it fast enough. We closed escrow on the property in October of 2016 and that November I was in the ER. I almost died. Spent my birthday and Thanksgiving in the hospital.Soon after that I quit my job at the CPA firm and started working from home. Still suffering from complications, that summer in June/July I ended up in the ER again. Even closer to death this time. Since then I've turned around my health. Focused on life on the farm. Raising my animals, my garden and creating a unique experience with the campers. I enjoy sharing this life and my home with like-minded people who want to escape the city and feel a little closer to nature.

I love that we have so much pristine desert right here in LA County. It’s a true treasure. Many of my fellow Angelenos don’t realize that you don’t have to drive far to get the full desert experience.Learn more about this land:This huge 40 acre property has the best of both worlds, as you'll feel away from it all while still being relatively close to civilization.   The property is completely undeveloped (no houses, structures, etc.) and is in its pure natural state.  Pitch your tent anywhere on this pristine piece of the Mojave Desert and you will be connected with nature.  A wash runs through the property, so water for trees is not too far below ground and this property is one of the few in the Antelope Valley to have shade trees. Black marble tile floors, small 575 square foot cabin with big views on our 5 acre property. Great place to stay for off-roading. Plenty of parking for your toys next to the cabin. For our summer guests: We have a very strong central A/C throughout. I have stayed here in 114 degree heat and it has still been cool and comfortable inside. For our winter guests: We have an indoor pellet fireplace which keeps the living room warm, and our bed has a dual-control heating pad (each side can choose their own heat level), and there is a radiant wall heater in the bathroom. There is also central heating for the especially cold nights--please use only when necessary as we are on electric only here and the central heater is not very energy efficient. Our hot tub is designed to stay hot all the time so we always have it set for 100 degrees so it's ready to go when you arrive. Backyard has firepit for cold winter nights to enjoy the stars. We are available through the app or phone any time during your stay and also have local contacts available as well for any on-site emergencies. We're located in Johnson Valley, just about 5 minutes to King of the Hammers/Johnson Valley OHV area, 17 minutes to the Integratron, 18 minutes to La Copine Restaurant, 35 minutes to downtown Joshua Tree, 40 min to Joshua Tree Park West entrance, 45 min to Big Bear. We are just near the "Valley Vista Airport" if you want a better sense of the location. 4 adults max per reservation. Guest count must be accurate on reservation to see the correct pricing. Easy keyless entry with electronic Yale lock. KITCHEN: High-quality Calphalon cookware and bakeware, KitchenAid standing mixer, Chicago Cutlery knives, cooking utensils, coffee bean grinder and drip coffee maker with filters, compact rice maker and slow cooker, Blendtec blender, microwave, compact dishwasher, large Subzero fridge, compact freezer, electric hot water kettle, toaster, breakfast/counter for working or enjoying meals with desert views. INFO ABOUT PETS: Dogs must be pre-approved before booking (please provide age, size, breed, etc.) to make sure they're a good fit for our place. There is a $50 pet fee per dog per reservation ($50 fee applies weekly for bookings of 7 days or longer). Please note no dogs on furniture and dogs cannot be left alone in the house at any time. There is doggie daycare for $18/day at Blue Barn Ranch or $30/day at Joshua Tree Pet Resort. We have real marble floors and ask you ensure your dogs have trimmed nails before they arrive that will not scratch them. Please note our property is not fenced. We have a neighbor that walks by each morning with 2 large and friendly dogs around 6:30-7am. There are coyotes and other wild animals that can be in the area so dogs should never be let out alone after dark. We do have a compact washer/dryer and only give access only for stays 5 or more nights. Please keep in mind we are on hauled water and usage should be within reason. OUTDOOR AMENITIES: We have a sitting area with wood firepit. Please note we do not provide firewood--they can be purchased at any local grocery store. If we have some there you are welcome to use it, but we don’t guarantee we will supply it or replenish if it runs out during your stay. If you are coming for a long stay and would like a lot of firewood, our neighbor can give you a quote to deliver. HOT TUB: No glass around or in hot tub, we have plastic cups provided. Please place hot tub cover on wood surround or rocks below, not on the ground/dirt. Please rinse off in the shower and wipe dirt/sand off your feet before entering hot tub. All 4 buckles on the cover and extra sandbags must be secured when not in use—it gets very windy here and the cover could easily blow away. Hot tub can be used any time, but please respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. ***Please note our hot tub gets serviced weekly on Fridays*** TV/INTERNET: We have a Roku TV with basic live channels as well as typical smart apps. Our wifi is 25 down/5 up and we typically actually get those speeds or a bit more on our tri-band mesh network with coverage both inside and outside the house. I have been able to watch streaming TV plus use my laptop to work at the same time without any issues. However please note when it gets especially windy, the internet can go in and out. DESERT/CABIN STUFF TO CONSIDER!! Please be aware we are in the actual desert! We have lots of nature around us and you will see some bugs and critters during your stay. We recommend keeping door closed at all times whenever possible to prevent bugs from getting in. During the summer there are lots of flies--if you leave doors open they will get inside. We have eco-friendly bug spray provided. In order to reach the house you'll need to drive about a mile down a dirt road. It's generally well-maintained and easy to drive, any type of car should be able to drive it (including regular sedans, etc.). However if there's heavy rain, it's possible it could be too muddy for 2-wheel drive vehicles. I have been able to get here without a problem in my 2WD SUV in the rain and even snow, but we are at the mercy of Mother Nature! Due to their age and not having screens, the windows are not to be opened (they are difficult to close and require multiple people and possibly tools to close them, tons of bugs go inside if left open, etc.). You can run the A/C on fan only if you want air circulation without A/C, but guests are not permitted to open them. We are on a water tank which means you need to be aware of willing to be conscious of your water use. Due to being on hauled water and septic and high electric costs, absolutely no filling up, emptying, or hooking up power of RVs, electric cars, trailers, etc. We have plenty of room if you want to park them on our property. We have two partially buried storage containers which we have created a barrier edge around the top, but guests need to be very cautious around the edges as there is a steep drop off on the other side of the barrier. In general guests need to take extreme care if choosing to walk around the yard as there may be steps and inclines that may be dangerous to walk on. There are animals and sharp desert plants on the property which could be dangerous to pets, children, or even adults. Guests exploring the property or letting their children/pets wander around the property do so at their own risk. If you drive off of the gravel areas of the driveway, you could get stuck in the sand, especially if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. We recommend to only drive and park on the areas with the gray rocks. As we are in an area where water is an especially precious resource, please be mindful of running the dishwasher or washing machine only when it's full, and if possible at night when the energy costs are lower. No electric car charging--if you charge your car or use any energy heavy equipment you will be charged an additional $50/day, or for actual cost of the extra usage above our average daily use, whichever is higher. This is a high fire hazard area, use of the firepit or smoking outside must be done with extreme care. Any fires in the firepit and cigarette butts must be fully extinguished and cannot be left unattended. Sometimes during high winds the county prohibits fires. It can get quite windy is this area, so we do not recommend leaving anything outside that could blow away or get knocked over. For this reason no inside furniture or linens can go outside at any time. Outdoor blankets must be taken with you when you go back inside. When it's especially windy power and/or internet can go in and out. Some carriers get service at our house, but the most reliable method is to turn your phone into airplane mode and connect to the wifi. In the Summer: A/C should be turned off or left at 78 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Door should always be closed when A/C is on. In the Winter: Heating should be turned off or left at 65 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Door should always be closed when heating is on.
