Gravel road to get there. 2.8 miles of it. Once there it was a wide open space. I ordered firewood. So glad I did. We had a guitar jam by the fire that was epic. Really felt the backroad of America vibe. We stayed 2 nights. 🎈

Great spot. Eymos was an awesome host, responsive to questions, and present to welcome/orient us, as well as giving us ample space to relax and enjoy the site on our own. Vibes are rustic/DIY but very intentional and thoughtful. The stargazing roof was a highlight.

Weekend Trip to Lancelot desert camping

Nani was a remarkable host. Her land is quiet, clean and very pretty. She took the time to drive and meet us and escorted us to her campground. Each spot has a fire pit, picnic table and pad for tents. A really cute outhouse is in between the sites. She has built everything herself, which is quite impressive. She's a carpenter. I do want to note that it is a 9.5 mile drive down a non paved road. It is very ruddy and washboard. We've been boondocking for 7 years and have been on some challenging roads. But, if you are somewhat inexperienced or have a vehicle that isn't equipped for it, you should be aware before attempting. However, it was definitely worth the stay. Beautiful property, very kind hostess and super quiet.

This place was incredible! We loved every second spent on the property. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, even though the interstate is 5 miles away. Paula provided more than enough firewood, and a porta-potty within walking distance of the site. She stopped by in the morning to check on us, but aside from that, never saw another human. It was incredibly relaxing. Just a quiet night under the stars. The last portion of the trip is a bumpy dirt road, as others have mentioned, but I had my truck fully loaded with equipment, and never felt the need to move out of 2WD. You won’t need a 4x4 to get to the property. You WILL however want some daylight to make your way to camp, obviously.

Beautiful desert land with incredible skies! The site is easy to get to but remote enough that you’ll feel secluded. Paula is a friendly host but you will mostly be left to enjoy the land and sky on your own. Road is a little rough getting out there but nothing 2WD can’t handle. Wind can be intense on the hill top and the ground is stony but plenty of large rocks to anchor with.

Nani is just an incredible person all around, we absolutely loved meeting her and chatting. My wife and I cherished our stay at Lancelot, you can tell that Nani’s heart and soul went into setting up and maintaining this beautiful campground. If you are looking for the perfect place to relax in seclusion while enjoying the out of this world stargazing, this is the spot to do it. We will absolutely be back.

I had a large family, my wife, five children, and 77 year old mother. We enjoyed ourselves. It was quiet and serene. The children and I loved the canyon, although the water had dried up. Everything about the campsite was exactly as the hosted described. The view was stunning. Sunset, star gazing and beautiful sunrise with the mountain range in the backdrop. Cell phone service is great. The portable toilets were dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in the while, mostly dirt in it. The roads are bumpy getting to the site but driving slow will get you there, at least when it’s dry. I would camp here again.

Beautiful scenery and very secluded. Had a wonderful night camping here with my dog. I wished I was staying longer. It was easy to find and 4 wheel drive isn’t needed. A sedan can make it if you drive slowly. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a campsite off the beaten path.

We stayed at site #2 with a 14ft trailer. The Good: Easy to park the trailer, great views, Paula is a great host, she is working on a structure which we used with a line to hang some towels. The Bad: The road in is very rough! We travelled slowly while towing, but it was OK enough to drive out and back with our truck. We left early due to forecasted high winds, so not a site problem but something to consider for Winslow. The Ugly: The restrooms needed cleaning, we opted to use our own camp toilet.

This camp site was the perfect stop on our cross country adventure. It was so peaceful and quiet out in the free range wide openness of Arizona. Nani was an awesome host. She made sure we found the place with no problems and thought of all the little touches to make the stay magical. Her labor of love truly shines through at Lancelot and I hope it continues to thrive and prosper. We will definitely be back next time we travel out this way.

2 nights at Milky Way Hip Camp

We just stumbled on Christina’s listing and so happy we did! The spot was so quiet and remote, no service unless you hike up the hills (which is what we wanted!), and the stars at night are gorgeous. Christina was really easy to talk to and great with directions. She was always available if we needed anything and informative of the area. Seemed like a genuine great person. Side note to campers, prepare for flies! They didn’t care about our food but just would not leave us alone unless we had reflectors up. Definitely no fault of the host, it’s just the area. A pretty minor thing though, would still highly recommend staying if you’re looking for some peace and quiet. And a great spot for dogs!
