High desert, with lots of Juniper trees and other mixed vegetation. No car or tent camping. Elevation - 3800 feet, not too cold in the winter, gets to 100+ in summer. Rainy season, is late June through September. Our 3 sights are all level gravel, 50amp, 30amp and 1 non hookup site. Imagine yourself sitting out in the warm evenings looking up at the wonderous, star filled sky. Or watching the sun set over the Hualapai Mountains, or getting up early to catch the sun rising over the Aquarius Mountains. The Hualapai Mountain hiking trails and Lodge (Great food with Mountain views) are within half an hour drive. The City of Kingman is also half an hour away west on hwy 40. Where there are Wineries, Breweries, Museums, Restaurants and ample shopping, including, of course, a Walmart. Other nearby fun places to explore: Follow the famous Mother Road - "Route 66." Where you can: Visit Peach Springs and drive to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, have a picnic by the beach and splash in the Colorado River. Take a picture by the 3 dimensional Route 66 sign. Drive up the 22 mile Sidewinder (191 curves), to the old restored mining town of Oatman, with all kinds of little shops, and a daily gunfight. And be sure to meet the Mayor of Oatman, who is actually one of many locals wandering freely through town, descended from the original Donkeys owned by the miners when they abandoned the town. Yes the mayor is a Donkey, and watch it because he may try to steel your bag if it contains candy or food. Keep driving down old Rte 66 to Topic, have a drink sitting in one of the Butt Chairs at the bar, or outside overlooking the Marina. Next drive 40 minutes to Lake Havasu, where there are many great experiences, including hanging out in a little piece of London with Restaurants, Bars and shops along Lake Havasu (Colorado River), under the actual London Bridge. Which was disassembled stone by stone, numbered, shipped and reassembled. Now bridges the City to the Island. Not too far from here is the Grand Canyon West Entrance. View it's Grandness walking out over the Canyon on the Amazing Glass Skywalk. You can go river rafting, ziplining and explore cultural exhibits depicting ancient village life. Kirk and Deana have a beautiful property that is everything you could dream of! Wish we could have stayed longer, and we even added an extra night (which they were very accommodating about). We arrived late the first night in bad weather, and Kirk stayed in contact with us to make sure we made it safe and even took the trouble to meet us in his vehicle in the dark so we had a guide. The road during the day/in clear weather is rutty as described in their listing, but very doable (we are used to going off pavement). We just happened to come during a down pour. As promised, once you get up the drive the spot to park is leveled out with easy gravel. There is a very nice trail system that is beautiful for a nice morning walk right outside your camper/tent door, about 1/4 mile long and you could choose to explore further. We took their itinerary suggestion of Oatman to see the wild donkeys and it was the highlight of our trip that we would have missed otherwise if not for the suggestion, highly recommend following their itinerary. Would absolutely book again, Kirk and Deana were very warm and kind, and made sure to be available to your needs while also giving you space to enjoy your site and nature.

Very well kept, amazing views (desert land/plants, sunset, night sky, sunrise, all of it!), beautiful artwork and mini trails, basically more than anyone can ask for at a campsite. My husband, dogs and I enjoyed camping here so much we plan to visit again. It was nice that the whole area was to ourselves, it felt very private and safe. Would definitely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Desert's Edge at Lake Havasu
Our stay at Dan’s place in Lake Havasu City was nothing short of amazing. Truly! This was our first Hipcamp experience, and wow — the bar has been set so high. The location was peaceful and scenic, felt very private, and it was located just a short walk to Castle Rock Bay where our Florida dogs had a blast splashed and played in the water together. Dan was a b*tchin' host too! He was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the area’s land and wildlife. We even went on a rock-hunting adventure through the refuge together at sunrise — such a truly unique and special experience! The sunsets were absolutely breathtaking, and the entire experience felt safe, beautiful, and welcoming. We only stayed two nights, but honestly, we could have stayed a month. A little ways out of town. Worst part is the washboards on the dirt road there, but nicely graveled area for the camper. Easy to see the stars at night, and quiet. Owner even met us and helped us back in in the dark. Would recommend.

Such a special spot. I slept out under the desert stars in complete solitude (except for the company of jackrabbits and Joshua Trees). Place has vibey but not excessive artistic touches—perfectly representative of the environment. Good spot to camp and have a small fire. I really enjoyed my stay!

Oh my goodness this place! It was heaven! You need to be comfortable being remote because it really is just you. But the stars are so beautiful, the sunset was stunning and there is something so special about the peace it brings being so secluded. Roads are pretty rough getting to the camp but worth every bump aha.

The spot is good for a quick stay over. I definitely recommend the Camp host to leave a burn barrel or something where people can put their trash because some people don’t know how to pack the trash out. We drove in at the dark of night. If you read and follow the provided instructions to the site you shouldn’t have a problem. You do have to trust the process at night as the last few turns you are just out in the middle of a field and the roads are not well established. Can hear the humming of the power plant until late in the night once it goes off.

A beautiful slice of Mojave desert, a short detour off the road to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. Here you'll find a broad assortment of iconic desert plants unique to the Mojave; ocotillo, barrel cactus, joshua trees, creosote bushes, a bunch of cool funky little succulents to name a few. From here, you can drop it in 4wd and do some real exploring, 13 miles to Lake Mead via Hualapai Wash Rd or Greg's Hideout Rd. 31 miles to Temple Bar Marina. ~10 miles up to the abandoned Golden Gate gold mine
