Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided, there is plenty of firewood too. We have a pit toilet available for campers to use. Pets are welcome.

Large spacious bush sites with the option of fire pit. Abundant bird life, walks and swimming. BYO canoe and we can drop you off upstream for a three hour paddle back down to your site. This campsite suits self-contained campers equipped with drinking water supply as no potable water available. It also suits campers who enjoy the peace and quiet of the bush without loud neighbours. Of course quiet campfire banter is encouraged. BYO bike and cycle along the backroads passing through eucalypt bushland, cane fields and farming, finishing with lunch at a local coffee plantation. On the way home pop into the Mango Winery to top your day off with a delicious fruity champagne. NOTE; Dogs will be considered at the discretion of Rusty Pheasant owners. Please contact us prior to making a booking to discuss. Strict rules apply. Approval is only given if the breed, age and temperament is considered appropriate. Arriving on site without approval could mean cancelation of the booking and a direction to vacate.

We have fruit in season, cows, chickens and ducks.It is 7km to the beach and 8km to the shop.It is also possible to hike to Cedar Bay from this location. Safe swimming in the creek. Camping on a private cattle farm 7km north of Mossman at Miallo, between Daintree and Port Douglas. The property is located at the end of a road with no through traffic, its a quiet spot amongst exotic fruit trees and large lawns. A birdwatchers paradise! Plenty of flat grass areas to setup camp. A crystal clear creek runs through the property and there are stunning mountain views with waterfalls. Enjoy a campfire or sit back and enjoy the native wildlife and cattle grazing in the paddock. Firewood is available to purchase on request. There is a toilet and a shower on-site (only one shower though for all campers so get in quick), campers must be self contained and leave no trace. We are 10 min north of the famous Mossman gorge and Port Douglas is just 25 minutes South East, "where the rainforest meets the reef". There is a variety of restaurants and bars, not to mention fantastic boutique shopping. Miallo Lakehouse Hipcamp

Miallo Lakehouse is situated on a private farm allocated along a beautiful rainforest stream that is perfect for swimming and relaxing. The location is perfect as a base camp to explore this fantastic region, just 8 minutes from Mossman, 20 minutes from Port Douglas, and 20 minutes from the Daintree. Sites are located by the stream and are well-shaded in the afternoon and morning, but with enough sunny space to charge solar panels. Adjacent to the campsites are horse and cattle paddocks, where you'll see our animals grazing. All campers need to be self-contained with their own camp toilet. There is however water available. Well-behaved pets are welcome too!
