Olive View Estate is a stunning 35 acre 700 tree working olive farm and guest stay accommodation. We have two paddocks on the back of the olive grove with breath-taking views.
Enjoy a walk through our gardens and olive grove. You are welcome to roam our entire property - we just suggest wearing enclosed shoes. We have some very friendly farm animals - Olly the goat. Barb, Shaun, Dodge, Daisy, Duke, Georgie, Gracie and babies Leslie & Bo who all love carrots and apples.
This is a full working farm and we restore vintage caravans and classic cars. You will see us pottering in the garden or walking our poodle, but we will leave you to your privacy.
We have a beautiful vintage bus that we have converted into a farm shop and you can buy olives, relishes, honey, jam, seasonings, magnesium and more.
We welcome small gatherings to celebrate birthdays, engagements or function (Christmas etc) just let us know during the booking process. We would appreciate quiet after 10pm.
We are only 8 minutes from shops in town and a short drive for all of the Scenic Rim's attractions. We are in the heart of The Scenic Rim.
The camping grounds is private and picturesque in our back paddocks - looking back over our olive grove and out to the great dividing range. We have fire pits set up in the camp area - please bring an extinguisher, wood and matches. The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges.
Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers.
At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use.
Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them.
We are always on site and happy to help with anything you need.
*Please note any negative feedback for camping received was from a festival that took place on our property in 2022 and the event organisers promised the campers facilities and did not deliver. Unfortunately Hipcamp won't remove these comments and we had no management of these customers. ALL other positive comments are through us direct.

We have a 50 acre elevated bush block with space for approximately 80 people with tents, camper trailers or caravans. We have a range of different sites with two main camping areas and many smaller semi isolated spots. Caravans are best set up on the lower campground where the main view is, and we send noisier groups in tents or swags to our upper campground. If you want to be away from the main groups you can choose one of the quieter spots. There is a council maintained 2 km gravel road which provides access & most vehicles can make it here reliably in any weather. Please note that you are unlikely to make it up our road due to the lack of grip on the gravel if you have a front wheel drive vehicle with any significant sized trailer. Our campgrounds can also be very slippery if wet but dry out within a few hours.
WE ASK OUR CAMPERS TO BRING A TOILET IF THEY'RE STAYING MORE THAN ONE NIGHT.
We now sell bagged firewood for $20/ 20kg and fill LPG bottles, cash only. We're happy for campers to gather firewood from the bush around the campgrounds, bring your preferred method of cutting it.
We are dog friendly but ask that campers keep their pets on a lead to stop them wandering onto adjacent properties or chasing our wildlife.
The camping area has no amenities, however it shares a spectacular view south across the QLD/NSW border from 300 meters above sea level, with Mt. Maroon 6 km away. Also visible are Mt. Barney and Mt. Lindsay. The nearest toilets and showers are at Maroon Dam or Rathdowney, 15mins away.
The local area has a tourism focus with plenty of opportunities to explore the Scenic Rim. Mt. Maroon and Mt. Barney offer walking trails to the top, Lake Moogera and Maroon Dam are not far away for jetskis, kayaking and swimming and we also have several eateries within 25 minutes. We have an abundance of wildlife from Wedge Tailed Eagles to Bettongs and Koala. We also get some dangerous snakes and 2.5mt Lace Monitors (Goannas). I often have campers bring telescopes and big cameras to take advantage of the long range views and dark night sky.
Kids are classed as age 10 and under. If aged 11 and over, please book at adult rate.

Andrew Drynan Park

Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee.
Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp.
Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent.
Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east.
Campers & Day Trippers Rules:
The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple
guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park.
By using this park you agree to the following rules.
All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed
limit.
Fires must be extinguished prior to departure.
Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all
rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so
the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish.
It must be taken with you!
The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in
fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the
creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem!
Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set
up on top of other campers.
Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of
2pm to 6pm.
Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all
times.
No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users.
No antisocial behavior.
No camping on creek banks.
No playing around toilet block area.
No livestock to be kept on the park.
No cutting down trees.
No person to travel in the load area of vehicles.
No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between
your campsite and the road.
No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones
or fireworks allowed in the park.
No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek.
No washing dishes or clothing in creek.
No hitting of Golf balls.
No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok).
No swings to be tied to trees.
Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance
will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for
trespassing.
Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use
of the park.

Tarome offers some of the best views of the Main Range and Cunninghams Gap, all of which you can enjoy from the site. The sunsets here are spectacular.
The Warrill Creek runs through the property, adjacent to the campsite and is home to an abundance of wildlife and vegetation all of which you are welcome to explore. The creek runs seasonally and makes a beautiful swimming area, but is just as enjoyable when dry allowing for a great path to explore the area.
The site is only a short drive off the main road so the property offers an ideal spot for short stopovers, or alternatively use it as a base to explore the rest of the Scenic Rim. The abundance of walking, hiking, fishing or biking opportunities in the area are endless, or if you are more into relaxing into some food tasting and wineries then you’ve hit the jackpot. Just an hour and a half from Brisbane CBD!
In lieu of camping with nature there are no amenities and limited service with some providers, but if you are chasing something in particular please let us know. We are happy to help. We have 178 acres of beautiful land hidden in the hills of Tarome in the Scenic Rim community. An amazing view of the national park and Cunninghams Gap. There is a hidden creek at the back of the property that never runs dry, running from Gap Creek Falls at the top of Cunninghams Gap.
The location is perfect for a quick getaway or long stay, complete privacy and little reception depending on your phone service, ensuring a peaceful camping stay. There is lots of activities within a short drive from the property including fishing at Lake Moogerah, hiking the mountain tops or having brunch at the amazing local cafe's in the area.
Our campsites are hidden in the hills, down by the creek or out in the open.
You will need a 4 WD to access the rear of the property.
There are 3 x 2WD camping options for caravans over 17ft or those not off road.
Depending on the type of vehicle and van will dictate your camping locations. Maximum caravan access for the rear of the property is 17ft off road van. This is due to the hill climb and a tight corner at the top.
Dogs are welcome but must stay within the camp, be under control or on a leash. If you have friends who you want to invite but don't have camping gear that's okay, we have the option to hire a camper trailer. All they need to bring is food and drinks. Only 1 available, please see Extras.
We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. All human, food and general waste is to be removed upon leaving the campsite.
We have fireplaces set up but if you prefer a different site for your fire please bring your own fire pit. Good Firewood for camp ovens etc is available for purchase under Extras. For this one off price we will supply you for wood for your whole stay. There is sometimes wood located at each campsite but the amount and quality is varied.

Overview
In South East Queensland, not far from Brisbane and Surfers Paradise is Boonah. Its name is derived from the local Yugarapul word for bloodwood tree or acacia and it offers an unparalleled outdoor experience for campers. Boonah serves as a gateway to the serene waters of Lake Moogerah, where caravan and tent campers can go kayaking and freshwater fishing for golden perch and eel-tailed catfish. Or navigate through the rugged trails of Main Range National Park, then stay the night in developed camping areas with stunning views of the Great Dividing Range. Dare to go off-the-grid with more bush camping at Mount Barney National Park. Where to go
Lake Moogerah
Less than 20 kilometres west of Boonah is Lake Moogerah, also known as Moogerah Dam. In addition to private caravan parks in the area, Moogerah Peaks National Park on the lake’s northern shores offers two on-site campsites. Walk-in tent pitches are at Frog Buttress, a grassy area set among an open eucalypt forest with toilets and picnic tables. Vehicle camping for campervans is next to Mount French car park. After finding a pitch, go wakeboarding, tubing, fishing, canoeing, or swimming in the lake. Rock climbing on the park’s volcanic peaks is a popular activity too.
Main Range National Park
Part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia Wild Heritage Area, Main Range National Park inspires awe among campers exploring its rocky ridges and the Great Dividing Range. A short walk to Governors Chair delivers an incomparable panorama of the surrounding area. A popular bushwalking destination, Main Range has developed camping areas in Spicers Gap and Goomburra for tent pitches and caravan camping. Water availability and quality can vary based on season and rainfall, so it’s advisable to bring your own drinking water.
Mount Barney National Park
Experienced bushwalkers will delight in spotting rare animals and plant species when bush camping in Mount Barney National Park, home to one of the highest peaks in Queensland. Walk-in pitches with no facilities in the rugged mountain landscapes are truly off-the-grid. Camping areas include Ballow Creek Junction in a rainforest setting, Barrabool amid rocky outcrops, and Montserrat Lookout on the summit. Walking routes range from moderate to very steep, challenging skilled wilderness explorers with rewarding vantage points.
When to go
Camping near Boonah is generally best enjoyed from April to October. Temperatures are milder with daytime highs in the low 20s and overnight lows around 5℃. And, there’s considerably less rainfall compared to the hot summer season when temperatures regularly exceed 40℃. Snakes and ticks tend to be more common during warmer spring and summer months, which coincides with Australia’s monsoon season. If camping in these seasons, come prepared with rainwear.
