Nice place by the woods
The camping field is a decent size and pretty flat. It's pretty close to the road but it's not too busy, so noise wasnt an issue.
It's near to a pond and the woods so mozzies were ravenous!
Sarah, the host, was really lovely and showed us where to go and the best spot to pitch etc.
I did have a few issues though... The advert said there was a shower, but only after we checked out on the site did it mention it was cold water.
The ad said there was a toilet, which there was, but it was a portable RV toilet. My issue with this is that we would have had to keep the toilet at the tent. I think I was expecting an actual rest room / outhouse of sorts - for privacy.
There really is nothing wrong with the site, it was in a perfect spot for travel to Six Flags Park.
Wooded plus frog songs
We arrived late and Sara greeted us warmly. We parked our 1978 Apache Camper by the pond and were lulled to sleep by the frogs. A welcome rest spot after driving from the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Great stay for solo and family trip
Sara was a wonderful host..very accommodating and she gave me great tips for local entertainment and hiking trails. She also has the tastiest, freshest honey available. This was my first solo trip and I felt very safe and comfortable staying here. I'm already planning to visit again soon!
It could be a decent site someday but needs some basic things like a picnic table and maybe a fire ring. The view of the pond is blocked by overgrowth so it’s there…you just can’t see it. The site feels like you’re parked in someone’s backyard, not a campsite, yet. Host was extremely nice and accommodating since we booked last minute and she let us come immediately. Wish them all the best.
Sara was awesome! She was easy to reach and gave clear instructions to the site. There are lines of trees on all sides of the site which gave some privacy and the ground was very flat - perfect for tenting.
Sara was such an amazing host as she went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we needed and had awesome communication. We needed a place to stay for a quick overnight on our way to White Mountains, NH and this place was very nice and we felt very very safe. There are thoughtful little touches on the property and they actually have their own honey! We definitely recommend!
