We loved our time spent at this camp right on the river. Super cool tepee with more than enough space to put up your own tent and a rentable canoe to fully enjoy the river. Great view with the stars at night and the sun rising in the morning. We cannot wait to come back - TY Lindsay and family!

My son and I just returned from the best camping trip ever. I originally found hipcamp through Google search for camp grounds but in all honesty I had my hesitations because it would be the first time taking my son solo and setting up our tent alone. When I saw tipi on the CT river, my first thought was, no tent set up! Little did I know that it was going to be soo much better than I imagined it could be. You arrive to a super friendly family who shows you the site and answers any questions one may have about camping in a tipi and on the river. They showed us around, gave us great info about nearby activities we could do, and my son loved their children. The covered picnic table, covered compost toilet, camping cot/bed, fire pit & cooking grate fire pit truly made the trip for a momma camping solo with her son. The thought and care that went into this camp site is a gem. Highly recommend and we will be booking again soon. I also loved that service was spotty enough that I turned off my phone but the hosts were close enough of a walk that if I had an emergency I didn’t feel like I couldnt reach out for help. 10/10 experience

It was a nice spot right by the river. Pretty quiet and didn't see anybody. Tipi was comfortable and I had everything I needed to enjoy some time outside. Also, Lindsay and Aaron (sp?) were very accommodating which I really appreciated. Would stay again.
If life offers you the opportunity to camp in a Tipi, don't pass it up! That's what I thought anyway, when we decided to book a night's stay after a Google search led me to their listing. That thought turned out to be a great decision! We had a great time!
Lyndsay and Aaron are fantastic hosts! Warm and welcoming, kind and accommodating, we felt like we were visiting old friends from the moment we were greeted in the driveway! Their property is so unique and our family had a genuinely great time during our stay! The Tipi is so cool, simply put! It's sturdy and cozy and a rare opportunity to get to experience, reason enough for us to have booked a reservation! Our kids had a blast and the site was everything we needed or could have hoped for! Lyndsay and Aaron really thought of everything! The campsite location overlooking the river is perfect; our kids splashed and played in the mud while we parents got to sip tea and watch on from by our campfire. Other notable details: The fire ring with cooking grate (the complimentary firewood!), chairs by the fire, The screened picnic table! The solar motion lights, the tented latrine! The carpeted platform beneath the Tipi, and a camping bed inside! Our gracious hosts had every rustic comfort thought out and provided for our visit. Our kids especially enjoyed the hospitality and being invited to play with the toys around the property; our kids all played so well together, a delightful highlight that made the trip even more memorable, if that were even possible! We'll definitely be returning again for future adventures!
Incredible spot! Had so much fun hanging by and swimming in the river. Lindsay and her family are excellent hosts! Highly recommend.
