Mary and Victor's hipcamp site was absolutely perfect. We are an apartment-dwelling city living couple traveling with our dog. Our dog, Dolly, loved the site, was intrigued by the horses and made quick friends with Mary and Victor's sweet dog Marley. Marley stayed by our side until we went to sleep for the night. Mary met us upon arrival and gave us so many options when it came to where we wanted to park our van and set up camp. There is so much space that it would be such a fun choice for a large group to camp together. We were able to set up a campfire and get cozy for the cool evening. The best part of this site is Mary's 3 horses who roam the property (Mary gives you the choice of whether you want them to roam, and we, of course, said yes!!) and come close for pets. Such beautiful animals, and such a nice treat for us since we are never around horses. It was so peaceful watching them graze so close! Mary also gave us a folder full of options for activities around the town, hiking trails (including one which is accessible right from the property!), state parks, a beautiful beach, farmer's markets, and her friend's Alpaca farm! She was so informative and helpful and really made our stay! She was such an amazing hostess. We will for sure be going back to visit Marley, the horses, and Mary and Victor.
Would 100% recommend this private, cozy, and unique camping experience! It is such a perfect spot for any kind of camper- family (kids would love the horses!), couples (the stargazing and quiet atmosphere were romantic), and groups (plenty of room for the whole gang!).

Sweet Marley, Mary and Victor's dog kept us company all night. Dolly happy to have her picture taken with a horse! Dolly meeting some of the horses.

Beautiful! The hosts were wonderful! We especially enjoyed interacting with the horses when they were grazing right next to the campsite.

We had an excellent 2 night stay. Very quiet and peaceful, nice mature forest around the site. The horses and dog were a plus - very well mannered. And we purchased eggs for our breakfasts from our kind hosts - very tasty and fresh from their chickens.

The site was very peaceful, and Mary and Victor went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed and to make me feel welcome. I enjoyed spending time with the horses, chickens, and dogs on the farm, and was also able to go to a couple of the (many) hiking trails in the area. A wonderful visit!

Wonderful place to camp, especially with kids. Mary and Victor are extremely nice and accommodating hosts. Very spacious and flat area to pitch your tent, with water and power near by. The horses are super charming, and there’s lots to do in the area. Chatfield Hollow state park is a short drive away and is a nice, calm spot to swim with kids.
