The mentioned wooded lot is in between private gardens from several houses around and opposite. It felt very weird/not private to camp there (although you are a bit hidden within the trees). Toilet and shower are 1/2 a mile away. I think you cannot consider that as a site with toilet. (But it is mentioned in the description to be fair). Exactly enough space for two small tents. If it's on your route and you are looking for a cheap spot it might suffice...
Being novice campers, this site was perfect for us. It might not be rural or private enough for people looking to really be in the woods. You can see houses around you on all sides. But the site is thickly wooded and my daughters and I felt very safe and just secluded enough. Having the hose and the extension cord hook up made the weekend run much smoother too. The lake is absolutely beautiful and peaceful and serene even on Labor Day weekend. And while the property is not right on the lake, the walk to the boat launch is very easy and quick. I was glad we brought along our wagon for easy float transport! The beaches are great and a very quick drive. This is a great site if you’re looking for an easy weekend getaway at a stunning lake!

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at the lake! The summer season is just around the corner and I hope you will come back to enjoy some float time!
My husband and I had fun tent camping for a night at Todd's place. For us, this site was 20 min from our home which greatly added to it's appeal, since we didn't want a long trip. Todd's site is rustic and fairly secluded, although you can see other houses. There is a nice size campfire ring and small building which has citronella candles, chairs and other helpful items. There is also a water hose and electrical wire, way back in the woods, if you like water and need electrical hook up. A nice feature of this site is that it includes a beach pass to Amston Lake so you can go down and enjoy the beach area, which we did around sunset.
Thanks it is an extraordinary place and has everything you need to have an unforgettable experience. I recommend it. especially at night, you can see the stars and hear the sound that different species of animals produce

Beautiful and cozy wooded campsite!
The space was just big enough to fit our pop-up camper and we were even able to hook up to water and electric.
The beach passes were nice to have, Amston Lake is peaceful and quiet.

Loved the lake and the space! The hammock was really nice and it was a nice area. My first time camping would do again!
Site was nice and clean and exactly as stated , offered more than ad said actually. We were pleased all around and have already highly recommended to friends and family. We plan on going back for sure. LAKE was AWESOME! Great place to tent camp! Thanks Todd!
The spot and lake we're great. Todd was very helpful, we even had a dead battery that Todd was willing to come out and jump for us.

Thank you for writing a review of Amston Lake Gateway. As the name of the site suggests, we are all about The Lake! If you are looking for a camp site that is inexpensive and provides you with lake privileges, then we are a good choice. If you are looking for a wilderness camping experience, then we are not a good choice. Our site as the pictures and description reveal is situated in a rural lake community with houses abutting the lot. The lot is heavily wooded, but it is only a 1/2 acre lot. I hope you enjoyed your stay, and had the opportunity to take advantage of the lake community.
