My girls and I had a great time and Brian and Melody made the experience one of the best. At one point Melody even took my girls for a tour of their massive garden (where they got to hand pick their own watermelon) and for a trip around the lake. We saw a family of wild turkeys and tons of frogs. My girls spent most of the evening trying to catch a few of them. On our way out they were sure to send us home with some farm fresh eggs! Thanks Brian and Melody
Brian was a great host!! It’s a big area that you and/or your family can adventure in. We ended up spending most days and time floating in the rustic swimming hole! There are a ton of frogs, and wildlife (saw wild turkeys and heard the coyotes every night). And the cows are awesome! They come and check you out, and wander the farm as well. If you don’t mind your kids and/or dogs getting dirty, they can spend a great amount of time wandering around the area (we didn’t mind at all). We also purchased a bag of fresh veggies and the tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers...and more, were amazing!!! We will definitely camp here again!
The Old Swimming Hole was a fun spot to camp. Nice not to have anyone else around, has some shade, nice views of the sunset and overall a funky piece of property. The swimming hole was also refreshing for a dip. Initially was a bit concerned with the farm smell when we arrived but go used to it pretty quickly and was totally fine. I think $50 per night is a bit steep compared to other comparable properties but the hosts were super nice and we enjoyed our stay there. They also let us hang out late into the day after the check out time since no one else was coming.
