We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Breath taking views and plenty of hiking opportunity! Our little family enjoyed spending time together and having the dogs with us was great. Lunch by the pond was beautiful and the kiddos loved the play area. The option to keep our horses close was a huge plus. Mona, karl, and owen were all amazing! Thank you!
Mona and Karl were the most amazing hosts! So friendly, accommodating and generous with their time. I’ve never felt more welcome- we even got to interact with their horses and meet neighbors 😊 The yurt is clean, stocked and in the most beautiful setting - we enjoyed small hikes around the property and catching glimpses of moose, bear, elk and fox. It was like a dream ❤️
Wilderness immersion therapy
Mona and Carl were incredible hosts. We felt like family and they were so helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The yurt is a special place. You feel like you are alone in the deep, undisturbed wilderness. We all want to return in all seasons with all our friends and family to share this wonderful place. Thanks Hipcamp for introducing us to the Ute Lodge! We'll be back!
Total back country privacy. Our first yurt experience. Had a great time. Incredible wild flowers and the 100’ tall birch grove was awesome. Jungle like fern growth. Sunsets that were inspiring.
Place was awesome. U need a all wheel drive or 4 wheel to get to the yurt but once ur up there its pretty amazing. Went w my wife and 2 kids and it had lots of room w a kitchen and pots and pans. Saw a moose the 2nd night driving up i mean its the real deal. We got there late the 1st night and a group of kids went on 4 wheelers to clear the path which was pretty cool.
Remote yurt with beautiful views
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Old Baldy yurt! The drive was so scenic and our hosts welcomed us on arrival - they were so lovely. The yurt itself has a bbq, campfire and plenty of space. The views were absolutely stunning and we couldn’t see a single other house for miles - it felt like we were up in the clouds. Definitely recommend!!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The road to the yurt was fun and quite doable in a Forester, while making clear that we were headed for an adventure! We felt like we really got into the woods and saw almost no one else for three days. The yurt itself was comfortable and had all the necessities. The surrounding area is gorgeous and filled with birdsong. Beds were good, kitchen had everything needed, the solar-powered lights were super useful, we loved the patio and the views... and what we'll remember the most was how wonderful Karl and Mona were, treating us like family and making sure we had everything we needed. They truly went the extra few miles for us and we can't wait to return!! Thank you!
Fun back country yurt!
Our stay at the Old Baldy yurt was awesome. Everything you needed was there, the beds were comfortable and the old-school kitchenette was super cool. It’s definitely a crazy ride up to the yurt, a solid two miles and you need 4-wheel drive or you won’t make it up there. The first night we saw shooting stars and the second night we watched the most incredible sunset. During the day we hung out down at the lake. Would 100% go back!
