I had a really nice stay at Taylor and Scott's place. They have several sites set up, ranging from close to the main building (school house) to out near the end of the property right by the creek/irrigation channel. The bathroom and common area in the school house were all super clean and very nice. A great place to spend a night or more, with spectacular mountain sunsets.
Great change from a reg camp ground
What a cool spot! We were on a three night road trip with camping and this was such a great spot to enjoy an actual kitchen and really nice bathroom and shower.
The host was super friendly too!

Our stay was very pleasant! The facilities and common spaces were spotless and inviting. We really appreciated having access to a kitchen and shower during our time here - it made a huge difference in our camping experience! Only thing to note was that the location was closer to the interstate than we expected, so we heard cars driving through the night. But Taylor and Scott were so friendly, and we loved meeting their dog! It was an easy stay and we appreciated how the space was run.
We love HipCamping here! Scott and Taylor are friendly and helpful, and their setup is above and beyond a normal boondocking experience - a shower, kitchen, gathering space, water station, and lovely little touches to make you feel welcome. Easy access with a truck/travel trailer. We look forward to returning to watch the progress on the eventual RV park they are creating.

We got to see very clear night skies from the old school house! The working space and kitchen are very thoughtfully laid out and improving.

Loved the property and hosts! We stayed in our camper under a beautiful tree and enjoyed having the schoolhouse to be able to cook in a spacious kitchen and enjoy hot showers. We loved it so much we extended our stay. Only regret is we forgot to sign the guest book 😱

Taylor and Scott's property is an amazing choice for camping in the area. Easy to find and right off a main road from Montrose, it's super easy to spot, and doesn't involve miles and miles of dirt road travel to get to like some other sites. Easy driving distance to Montrose for gas, groceries, etc...Ouray to see waterfalls, climb 14er Mt Sneffels, or see the beautiful Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park!
There are some shady spots to set up a tent or nestle an RV into, which is a welcome relief in the summer months. And even some mulberry trees close by for snacking.
The indoor schoolhouse area is AMAZING, and by far the most put together common area of any site I've stayed at in Colorado. Beautifully furnished, clean and cool inside, it's a great spot to take a breather from outdoor activities.
The kitchen is clean and well stocked with cookware and common kitchen items to make some more elevated camping meals.
Super clean indoor restroom with a shower to get the dirt and grime off before the next day of getting dirty and grimy in the outdoors!
Taylor and Scott (and their super sweet and friendly golden retriever) were so welcoming and accommodating. Absolutely fantastic hosts, I'd give 10 stars if I could. :)
Definitely recommend their spot, and would be my first choice the next time I'm in the area.
