Absolutely beautiful! The campground was quite close to the other campers, which turned out great because they were great!

Absolutely beautiful views and peaceful campsite! Would 100% visit again. Had a super friendly camper at the other site on our first night but far enough where you get your privacy too!

Stop looking for any other campground around this vicinity cuz you found the perfect spot! Awesome view and the nicest people. I can’t wait to stay here again. A little deer with the biggest ears even graced us with their presence. Clean porta potty and, I mean, what more could you ask for? Loved it!

Wonderful camping experience! The directions and signs are helpful and so cute. Traci was so kind and even helped us with a favor. The site was quiet, and the view was spectacular.

The view is really quiet beautiful and the relatively remote site made for a quiet stay. Very quick and convenient access to the north end of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Warning that there was no cell service for me but a lovely stay.

The view is fantastic!

Thanks Marja! Hope you guys come back soon. Seems with more visitors the cell service will get better. For anyone reading this review, the only cell service that works well is T-Mobile for time being. Verizon works as you get closer to the reservoir or up on the mesa as you get closer to the park.

Hi Tom - thanks again for camping with us. And your feedback as well. We are going to be doing some work on tree mitigation in the near future as we open up the campground and byways. Always a moving target! Hope you return next year.

Tater’s location is fabulous! The views are incredible and the proximity to the Black Canyon is very convenient. Traci greeted us upon arrival and was very welcoming and friendly. Traci shared their vision with us to create a lovely private small campground with hot showers, toilets and water. Those are all great positives. Tater’s Campground is not quite there yet and need more campers! We will for sure be checking back next year and hope the improvements will be complete. Hay…hot showers are golden at any campground! For a bit of context…We were camping for the first time in many years and would have been happier if the grounds had been a bit more groomed. Pea gravel, granite…something at the campsite would have been a huge upgrade. As it is, it’s dry and very dusty. Seasoned campers may not be as finicky as us…so there’s that to consider. Give this place a shot and support their dream!!

Thanks Beth. We are working towards more infrastructure by next Spring. For now, we don't advertise it as anything more than it is. It's more like dispersed camping for time being with a price point that reflects this.. For those looking for more groomed campsites, the State or National Park may be a better fit. But then again, campers are right on top of each other. Hope you will revisit at some point.

The view here is amazing. Dirt road to get to the sites but very easy in a rental sedan. There are only 2 spots (as of 8/21/22) and if you get spot #1 you will be staring at spot #2 the whole time for the view which was a bit weird. Also, the spots are close, and our neighbors were playing music right up to the 10pm cutoff so don’t expect peace if you have neighbors without proper camping etiquette. Would absolutely return here if #2 was available.

Thanks for your input. We will be updating the campground by next Spring with more camp spots that will be further apart plus toilets and showers. Right now, we dont have the infrastructure to move the sites. This is still far better than the other campgrounds such as the state park and Black Canyon NP where you are right on top of each other!

GPS took us straight to the property. Traci has a great written explanation as well. The property has signs directing you straight to your site. Bring some sturdy tent spikes, it was a challenge getting the tent tied down on the rocks.

Beautiful spot, even if it stormed majority of the time we visited. 10/10 would stay again.
