This horse friendly 51 acre heavily wooded property is nestled in a rural area next to the Front Range Mountains and Raspberry Butte. It has rolling hills and a natural pond during the winter. We created five campsites along the 300 yard winding road that leads to our home and barn. The campsites are set up for RV's, trailers, (tents or vans that have their own toilet). This is NOT a commercial campground.

There is a petting zoo with a shetland pony, donkey, goats, ducks and chickens. Our 8 stall barn holds 8 horses. We offer horseback rides in our round pen upon request for an additional cost. Thirty acres of our property are fenced for the horses and located directly behind the campsites. You are welcome to explore our property as we have lots of wild life and domestic animals. If you have your own horses we have the ability to board them at an additional expense.

We are approximately 2 miles from the town of Larkspur between Spruce Mountain Road and Perry Park Road. (Please note google maps will try and send you to a location on Perry Park Road which is incorrect. Please refer to the map located on this website.)

Due to being remote we have spotty Wifi. Typically ATT and TMobile work best. Verizon reception can be located at certain spots around our ranch.

There are three restaurants located in the town of Larkspur to include pizza, Mexican food, and a pub. There is also a large park with lots of kids play equipment. During the summer there is typical concerts at the park on the weekends. We are approximately 10 miles from the town of Palmer Lake which has fishing, kayaking, and several restaurants. Spruce Mountain hiking trails are 2-3 miles away. We are approximately 40 miles north of Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, and Manitou Springs. We are approximately 40 miles south of Denver and all of its attractions.

We are not a commercial campground.

This was our second time staying at Theresa's lovely horse farm with our two grandkids. The kids were so excited that our spot was right across from the petting zoo. They both had the time of their life loving on the goats, donkeys and horses; and talking to the chickens and ducks. I overheard my granddaughter as she was running past me towards the animals say, "I can't believe we're here!" The family gave us some delicious chicken eggs and offered their friendly warm hospitality. The kids were also able to have their second horseback ride while we were there. The first one was two years ago when we stayed the first time. We will definitely be back. It has now become a "tradition" in our grandkids' minds for sure.

This is a magical place right near our back yard. My kids love all the animals, rode horses and couldn’t have felt more comfortable with the host and her family. Everyone was great and is a great sort trip away but makes you feel completely recharged. Thank you we will be back soon.

This was our second time staying at Standiford Ranch, and it was just as good as we expected. We arrived in the rain, which continued into the night. Because of this, we set up our tent quickly and spent most of our time inside it or our minivan. We were in the coveted site 1 overlooking the pond, which was just lovely. It was a very quiet and peaceful night beneath the pines.

This is dry camping, and we travel with our own "bathroom" tent, bring our own water, battery-powered everything, etc. Site 1 is convenient to the dumpster, which we really liked when it was time to leave. This campground always feels very safe, something we don't feel at many other Colorado campgrounds! We didn't get to visit with Teresa this time, but we did last time, and she's a very friendly and helpful host. We'd recommend Standiford Ranch to anyone!

We've stayed at several Hipcamp properties in Colorado and Wyoming over the past few years, and this definitely ranks among the best! Our site had great views, with beautiful pine trees to provide plenty of shade. Teresa is fantastic and obviously takes pride in her beautiful property, and goes the extra mile to ensure her guests are happy. Besides sharing the property, she is happy to share her animals and her knowledge of things to do in the area. Highly recommend this one!

Teresa is a great host! Its a rustic but sweet little place to enjoy quiet. The animals (ducks, chickens, goats, mules, mini ponies, horses, etc.) are very friendly in the zoo and love carrots or apples. The view in the morning is absolutely gorgeous. A little care may be needed here and there but finding an amazing place like this in the woods near Larkspur is not easy at all.

We enjoyed staying at 51 Forested Acres with horses in Larkspur. Beautiful setting and my grandkids loved seeing the array of farm animals. There was a nice park/playground a few minutes away in Larkspur and some nice restaurants close by. The Sandstone Ranch open space was great for an easy hike with the kids. We would definitely come back to camp at 51 Acres!
