The small town of Hartsel on Hwy 24 is located at the geographic center of Colorado which offers the Highline Cafe & Saloon, Pizza restaurant and gas station. Outdoor recreation is the main draw to this area with the South Platte River flowing through town offering trout fishing year-round. Hunting is popular on nearby federal and state land. Antero Reservoir is 15 minutes which is open to fishing and boating. Other nearby areas for fishing are Spinney Mountain or Eleven Mile reservoir. Buena Vista is 30-minute drive, home of Browns Canyon National Monument and whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River. Nearby Mt Princeton Hot springs and Cottonwood Creek Hot springs. Nearby Trout Creek Pass trail and Fourmile area for ATV's and dirt bike rides.Dry camping spot for your RV, camper trailer or campervan with access to picnic table and fire pit. Property located in The Ranch of the Rockies which is 2 hours from Denver and 1.5 hours from Colorado Springs. Nearby fishing at Antero Reservoir, Spinney and Eleven Mile. ATV trails at Trout Creek Pass and Fourmile. RV dump station available in the Ranch near the entrance on Lazy Circle near Pavillion.

Quiet camping spot

Best getaway

This was the perfect spot for a quiet escape from the city. We enjoyed the spectacular night sky and the soothing mountain solitude.

Quiet camping spot

Great area, with firewood provided. Lots of trees that make it secluded. Amazing view of the stars at night. Would stay here again for sure

Quiet camping spot

Lovely few days in July. We got exactly what we were looking for: a quiet 4th of July weekend. It's a simple site in a slowly developing neighborhood, close enough to Buena Vista and three reservoirs for day trips. We enjoyed walks along the dirt roads, views of South Park and distant mountains, careful fire-pit fires, and hanging out next to our teardrop trailer. There are large RVs parked more or less permanently on lots in the area, as well as a number of lovely new homes. Coyotes were heard but not seen, and we kept food and trash stashed away.

Quiet camping spot

Perfect location, and campsite.

The site was very nice, and exactly where it needed to be for a wedding I attended in the Ranch of the Rockies. The site is well laid out, with a nice fire pit and wood! It has been kept up very well with good gravel circle drive. It is vey quiet! I couldn’t have been happier. I would definitely recommend.
