This place was great! It was super convenient to get to from the highway. The A frame was super cool and nice and insulated so we stayed pretty warm with being mid 30’s outside. The gas grill was also very convenient. Lastly thanks to Rick he was responsive on his phone and super helpful!

Such a cool little cabin! We stayed warm in 30 degree weather inside. We stayed in cabin #2 which is the smaller one and I didn't feel like it was too small, it was perfect for 2 of us, plus 1 dog. The restroom was clean and didn't smell bad. We got up the road no problem with 4WD. Great place to stay for the price.

The A frame was very clean and smelled nice. Solar lights outside and LED strip lights inside were a nice additional touch. Rick also let us use the propane grill which was an added convenience. Only a couple of things to note. The vague directions given to get to the property were made for if you're traveling West from Denver. If you're coming East from Utah it makes it a little trickier to figure out how to get there. I would recommend a 4wd or AWD vehicle to get up to the cabin. Also, the parking space for the first cabin is on a steep decline and makes it hard to get stuff in and out of your car. Finally, please make sure you contact Rick BEFORE you arrive for the code to enter the cabin. We had to wait 45mins in our car before we got a response. But we enjoyed the cabin overall.

As many of the previous reviews, the road to the cabin (especially the last bend before cabin 1) is a bit rough but really an adventure in itself. The cabin itself was perfect for my wife and I for two nights. We were able to have our queen blow mattress and the stack of blankets necessary to brace the cold nights. We also had room for our bags, cooler, and some other small items inside the cabin with us. The host was responsive quickly to two needs, one being a little assistance in directions and he kindly got the porta potty back up from being turned over the night before quickly after I reported it. This spot is in awesome location for the hike to St. Mary's Glacier and the Indian Hot Springs, as well as a walk around the cute town of Idaho Springs. Check out the Frothy Cup! We appreciate the host sharing a piece of his little mountain heaven. Until next time ✌

I wish it would have been warmer so we could have enjoyed the cute deck more. Next time. 💙The cutest spot for a weekend away just a short trip to tons of incredible things to do.Lights in the cabin actually brighten the space well. We played cards the first night in the cabin because it was too cold out for much more.Downtown Idaho Springs. Have a beverage at The Frothy Cup and have dinner at Beau Jo"s.

Struggled finding campsite 3 because Rick never changed the signs on the property’s (hopefully this irrelevant by the time it’s post) so we went searching in the woods for a non existent campsite. Rick then told us our spot is actually campsite 4. Not much to do or explore unless you leave the campsite and go into town. And no you don’t get your own portable, but the portable is at campsite 2.. campsite 1 & 2 are also within 10yards from each other so good for a group but not if you want privacy..
Don’t expect a good sunrise or sunset…

“Hairpin” is a big U turn on the mountain so when your heading up you’ll hit a U turn and after that U turn you go around the sandy hill for about 100yards and you’ll see campsite 1 & 2 on your immediate right.. Campsite 3 (which was 4 hopefully Rick changed the signs by now) you go past both 1 & 2 up the hill tell you get to another big sandy hill but instead of heading up and around the hill there’s a trail to the right of the hill that goes down, that’s the way you want go. Only 4x4 can make it to campsite 3 in and out!

Great stay and Rick is flexible and attentive. My only qualm with the place is noise from the nearby highway. But the the price and convenience to the city, this is a great value and I’m happy with the stay

Such a unique, adorable space to stay! Conveniently located off the highway, but hidden in the trees. The cabin itself was perfect size for just me, but would be great for a couple as well. Very cute patio and grill! The only downfall was arriving at night and traveling up a very rough road. It was difficult to find the spot, but the host did an amazing job assisting me to get there safely and responded to texts promptly.

First off, the Aframe cabin and camp site were amazing and we had a great time! The reason for the review, however, is because the host, Rick, is the best. We managed to take a wrong turn (Don’t go straight at the tight hairpin turn and go up the rocky “road”!!!) and popped two tires. We called Rick and he drove over an hour to us, got us two tires at Walmart and changed them for us!! (My wife and I are not car savvy) He even gave us our two nights for free! It’s clear to us that he wants all his guests to have a great time and really valued our safety and enjoyment. I can’t recommend this little spot enough. If you’re looking for a fun getaway not too far away (it took us 50 min in rush hour traffic on Friday from Denver), look no further!! Rick, thanks again, you saved our weekend!

We loved our stay at cabin site #1! It was a very cute tucked away spot to get away for the weekend. Love the proximity to Denver for a quick trip. The road was as described, made it up with no issues in our Nissan Rouge. You could hear traffic on 70, but it wasn’t an issue at all. Not only was the grill great to have, but it was stoked with grilling utensils as well. We really enjoyed our stay here and will certainly be back!
