We did not actually stay here. We got a bit lost with the directions (which are now updated with a more precise explanation) and when we realized what the road was like to get to the property, we opted not to try to access it without knowing what we were going to run into. We are driving a 32' class C with a toad, and the listing originally said up to 45', but I would be super hesitant to go up the hill in a motorhome that size. Im sure trucks, vans, and 4wd would have no problem. I see that Taran has updated max length to 25 which makes sense to us less-adventurous types. Overall pretty bummed we couldn't stay because it looked like it might've been cool

Beautiful secluded spot! We had a hard time finding the location (don’t use the map with hip camp) but it’s a great spot. We saw dear all around us and close to the reservoir. We could not park the camper van next to the fire pit and had to be parked next to the site. If in a lower ground clearance (we have a Ram Promaster Solis) be careful if the weather is wet. We opted not to stay the second night as it rained and we did not want to get stuck. Overall beautiful place and good location.

Tarans property is a perfect location for feeling like your completely secluded, yet a quick 10 mins from town. He was extremely responsive and had many great recommendations.
We spent a day at the reservoir soaking up the sun, and then watched the sunset from the hillside right up from camp. 10/10 would stay here again.

We had a great time camping here. It was a little tricky to find, I'd recommend looking at the pin and following it as you go once you get past the gate. The reservoir is a little drive away, but relatively close. The town of Pagosa is also just a few minutes away. Was great for a larger group, as the spot was isolated enough for us to not have to worry about noise. Beautiful spot and a short walk to the top of the mountain to see a gorgeous view of the mountains!

First of all, the view is breathtaking!
GPS indicated we were at the correct location and did not find the fire pit or a pretty level place. The pictures on the website show fairly level spots, but we did not see them.
NOT recommended for a 32' motorhome.
We found a spot that we could got the coach mostly level.
The property is beautiful and there is lots of wildlife.
Great for people with tents or pickups.

The directions have been updated to how to get to the spot and the pictures indicate where to go. The GPS may not take you up to the top but it does show the location point. Sorry for the inconvenience but due to some of the feedback i have received i have updated the directions to make it more clear. There is only one road to go up the hill and the picture should be used as directions of how to get up the mountain.

Taran was great, patient and very helpful!! Place was very pretty and secluded which was great. Out of the way and far enough away from society to give you that “get away from it all” but still close to things so your not completely alone feeling.

We didn’t end up staying due to communication issues. We were under the assumption we would be the only ones at the site, but when we arrived there was an airstream blocking the only path we saw to get into the campsite/fire pit area. There was a dog tied up outside the rig with no owner present. We went into town to get service and awaited a response, but ultimately decided we needed to find another place for the night and went with East Fork up the road.
Very frustrating as we tried to stay at the property and followed the GPS, map and owner instructions to a tee. After we let the owner know about the situation and how we’d like a refund we were ghosted. No response whatsoever. We ended up paying for East Fork and this hipcamp location.
My husband and I live full time in an RV and have stayed at hundreds of harvest hosts, dispersed sites, boondockers welcome, state parks, national parks and other hipcamp locations. We should have heeded the warning of others who left reviews before.
