We are a small family raising some grass hay and 4-H animals. We enjoy our local activities like, Highline Lake, the Colorado National Monument, Rabbit Valley and small town USA, Fruita all nearby and want to share that opportunity with you! Learn more about this land: We are a small farm situated well off the road with a beautiful pasture in the foreground and views of Colorado National Monument behind that. Camping/parking spots are level dirt. Although we are considered a dry or self contained camp, we do have potable water available. Our site layout is very flexible as we are in the desert and have an open layout. We have horses, dogs and cats and sometimes the elusive teenagers! Access to our riding arena can be available as well.

Noisy neighbors

Toby is a wonderful host, and her property is fine for an overnight. However, there were issues outside of her control like a neighboring dog that barked for hours and a rooster that crowed at 6am until I left at 6:30. Also I could hear traffic all night. I believe this is well suited for a camper rather than a tent to shut out some of the noise.

Puppies in the morning!

Woke up to the cutest puppies I ever did see. We arrived late at night so it was a little tough yo figure out where the spots were but we were the only ones there so it ended up being pretty smooth. Just an overall very pleasant time!

Solo woman traveler

Toby and fam made my first Hipcamp experience likely the first of many to come. I was slightly hesitant about dipping my toes into this type of camping experience, but passing through over a holiday weekend, I wanted to secure a spot. I was intrigued by the model and the philosophy. I was not disappointed. Most importantly, Toby was a gracious and welcoming host in a lovely setting. I felt welcome and safe. Thank you Toby and family for this brief but wonderful stay and first experience. Please pet Ruby, Sage, Boone, the pups and horses for me. The pleasure of the company was welcome and still leaves me feeling grateful and happy.

Great base camp in Grand Junction

Our son stayed there twice in the space of a week during his trip to attend a cousin’s graduation in Denver. Toby was a great host and provided our son with a warm and welcoming place to stay. We love finding great places and great hosts like Loma and Toby. Our future trips through Grand Junction are likely to include a stay here.
