Situated adjacent to Barr Lake State Park Wildlife Refuge, guests can hike, bike, or ride horses around the lake trail. You will see many kinds of birds, including bald eagles, ducks, geese, and pelicans. You will likely see cattle, horses, foxes, snakes, deer, coyotes, and skunks. The sunrises and sunsets can be spectacular.

We have one acre of fenced pasture that can be used for guests traveling with horses or other large animals.

This is a rural location with close access to Barr Lake State Park, full shopping, restaurants, and interstate highway. It is within a mile of a busy railroad crossing.

Pets of any kind are strictly not allowed in the Wildlife Refuge section of Barr Lake State Park; this is for the protection of both the pets and the wildlife. Water access and activities are banned on this part of the park as well. Water activities, such as fishing, paddle boards, kayaking, etc., are permitted via the main entrance to the park on Picadilly Road (the other side of the lake from this location); it requires travel of about 10 minutes to reach the main entrance of the park. A day or annual pass is required to enter the park, which can be purchased at the entrance gate.

Kathy’s place was the perfect spot for a last minute, late night spot to rest. It’s set right by Barr Lake State Park so we woke up to a pretty view. There’s a fire pit and a nice patio table. No toilet so BYO.

Beautiful place! Gorgeous lake view! We saw a lot of wildlife. Super close to tons of shopping and restaurants but feels like your really out from a city! We were able to enjoy Denver as well with a quick drive! Easy to locate the site. The site felt safe. Friendly hosts that helped us out big time because upon arrival we made an error and drove into some mud and got stuck! It was 100% driver error and we felt awful about it. The host was able to pull us out with their truck. I had good service on my straight talk phone/data. There is a train that goes by (seemed like not very often) but it didn’t bother us. Highly recommend this campsite!

Great spot to stay right by a lake. Beautiful view of the lake and great space for pulling up a small-medium size camping vehicle. Very kind and helpful hosts. Would definitely come back👍

Beautiful location on the lake. We had a great time on our first night with our new camper. There is a nice hike and bike trail that leads to the state park in Kathy's backyard.
