Camping with horses on the side

I live in the country in a small town called Byers about 50-55 minute from downtown Denver. I have 3 acres you would share with 3 horses that host 3 sites near the horses. We have a number 3 fidish going on here. Lol I can supply a power extension cord, or you can rent a generator for an extra $15 a night. There are two water hoses, a shared fire pit, and a shared picnic tab

Each site has a crushed cement driveway next to a small plot of grass/weed for a tent or pullouts. May Farms is right down the street. To ask questions call Marcy at 303-423-9715

We spent last night here while driving our 19 foot long sprinter van from MT to NC. On the positive side, the spot is close to I70, there is potable water available and the host was kind enough to leave out an extension cord if you wanted to plug into power. On the negative side, the 3 spots are extremely close together—like only a few feet apart—right next to the host’s home. It would be very close quarters if even one other guest was there not to mention if they ran a generator which is permitted. So if you are looking for privacy this is not the place for you. The most challenging aspect, however, for us were the two large, barking dogs that Marcy said belonged to her Airbnb guest also on the property. They were no more than 12 feet from where we were expected to park and barked incessantly at us and our two dogs. We decided to move onto a different part of the property to be out of their sight to stop the barking and Marcy had her guest pull them inside about an hour after we arrived. Marcy was nice enough to let us keep the van where we had parked. Unfortunately, the dogs were let out this morning and picked up where they left off so we departed as quickly as we could which was not our plan. If you are looking to stay there, I would ask ahead if Marcy is going to be having Airbnb guests with pets.

Mary is a very accommodating friendly host. She has made lovely sites for her guest with individual fire rings, a clean outhouse, and water available. The sites are fairly close but I feel the space was adequately used and open for campers to socialize. Marcy was very communicative, I arrived late in the evening and had to be out early in the morning and she responded to all questions i had sent. The property has beautiful horses present and a very friendly cat. One of my favorite parts about the property was the sense of security from the long driveway and gate closure. If i am in that area again i would definitely stay!

Yes these spots are close so that friends or families can be close together or for people who like to meet other campers. Plus it’s right by the horses. Most Airbnb customers only stay for a couple of days at a time and do not have unruly pets like these people had. But it does concern me enough to put in my Airbnb rules if there is HipCampers here, they are to keep their dogs from barking.
