This place only gets better!
The spot is perfect for a cabin. Just above the Holy Cross City ghost camp cabins, but out of sight. Amazing that the builders found a flat spot. If friends/family were to come join I am not sure where a tent would go ? So many trails and basins to explore.
WOW! This spot was a absolutely amazing! This is definitely one of the coolest places we’ve stayed and an awesome experience. The road in was closed so it made for a long hike but the views and serenity atop the mountain was worth it! The cabin had everything you could need and served as a great base camp for further exploration and relaxation. We will be returning later this summer and hopefully again in the winter!

This little cabin is pretty much the most magical place on earth! It couldn't be situated any better - there's endless adventure potential right out the front door. The cabin is so cozy and comes with INSANE views - the entire tenmile range skyline turns bright red and orange during sunrise and sunset. Holy cross city doesn't see too much foot traffic, so it feels like a private piece of paradise. The surrounding area has dozens of alpine lakes throughout and plenty of peaks to climb. If I could live here forever I absolutely would, and I don't think I'd ever get bored!

Cleveland lake is less than a mile uphill and Holy Cross City less than a half mile downhill. Beautiful sunrise and sunset from your doorstep. El Refugio is a quaint escape with all the backpacking materials you'll need.

Still the best place ever (at least CO).
In a word: magical. Stunning landscape with snow capped mountains, wildflower strewn streams and alpine lakes. The cabin is simple, self-sufficient and cozy with everything we needed. A wonderful stay.

Mason, Thanks for the review and pictures! Looks like the road is nicely open again (with fresh gravel) so should be shorter later this summer!
