I am hesitant to leave such a glowing review because I’m afraid if everyone finds out how great this place is, it will become so popular that we won’t be able to get a reservation next time.
But this place is so amazing— the perfect place to go for a quiet low key getaway with friends. We loved the bidet, the wood stove, the solitude and the sauna. We will be back next year for sure!
Sarah’s place is a gem. This restored cabin is thoughtfully designed and is the perfect location to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The place is just splendid and has everything you need to make cozy meals, play games and enjoy the most delightful record collection. You are close to hiking, fishing and FairPlay with food and a great brewery. I can’t wait to return to this cozy cabin with the best vibes. Thank you Sarah for sharing your home. It is a very special place.
Great little place. Sarah was very helpful and we had a wonderful time!

This cabin was a charming retreat for our family of 6. Kids loved the twin beds upstairs. Fun toys and games for families. We enjoyed the slowing down necessary with building a fire.
There’s so many times you look at photos and you wonder, “is it really that good?” Yes, it’s that good, and then some.
We were looking of something different and off the beaten path just for a few days to unplug and unwind. And we found it here. Yeah, the kids were bummed to be without the internet for a few days (even though there are ways to get it), they survived. 😉
It was perfectly centered for all the places we wanted to go to for hiking day trips and it was a wonderful place to retreat to for a quick steam in the sauna at the end of the day. It was also awesome to just sit around the table and play games while listening to some records on the turntable. The beds are very comfortable too! Such a rare thing!
We had such a good time, it was really sad to leave!
Also, if you make the quick five mile run south into Fairplay, I highly recommend the Java Moose for their coffee and food. The coffee was perfection in a cup and the food is awesome!
I definitely recommend this, High Alpine Miner’s Cabin.
