My friend and I set up camp next to their trout pond for the night. The site was quiet, serene and we enjoyed a fire while watching the sunset. Elijah's grandfather welcomed us and was very kind to tell us about the land and it's history. We both really enjoyed our stay.

I was heading out to Mesa Verde and needed a place to car camp. Elijah’s grounds were affordable and conveniently placed. Pagosa Springs is also a cool little town for breakfast.

I arrived a little later than I anticipated but Elijah didn’t seem to mind. I would definitely recommend staying at his grounds, but just make sure the location is already in your GPS as there is little service going up the mountain (at least for Verizon). It was easy to find though even in the dark!
