This remote location was a perfect spot to unwind during our adventures through Durango. We visited in early October and the leave were every shade of yellow, orange and red- it was autumn at its most beautiful.
Joe was an amazing host who was very responsive. I would highly recommend this place.

We absolutely loved this place it was so beautiful!! Lots of trails throughout the property and close by. The river running through created a peaceful calming sound. The Stars were so bright. The outdoor shower was great and the kitchen area was fully equipped.

What I particularly ceased the opportunity to enjoy and take in the gifts of the mountain spirit, I booked for a day and extended for a week along with my son and dog. Joe- the host has quite a thoughtful set up that brings the necessary conveniences of inside outdoors for extended living. We enjoyed hot showers under the cool Moon and having hot teas on cold Colorado mountain mornings. The Creek held a constant and soothing background acoustics and my dog delighted in frolicking while I felt comfortable and safety in his roaming. There are 3 sites to choose from. The only draw back at first was the dusty roads of the San Juan Forest Mountain . I had to get over that. But moving tent further after the first night solved the dust dilemma a vehicle may passing by. I rested well and am grateful for the experience.

Great location, next to a lot or trails and tons of beautiful scenery. Stayed two nights and felt welcome, $30 was a great price for a camp spot with the dogs.
