Incredible camping spot! Quiet, lush foliage because of the creek, the hike up the 4WD trail yielded awesome views of Mt Sopris, the Maroon Bells and more (and a cell signal!). Robert is a great host. We enjoyed chatting with him both days we were there. He really cares, and is a wealth of information on the area
We had a great stay over the 4th of July weekend! Such a beautiful location close to so many great hikes. Campsite was really nice and outhouses were extremely clean. Would definitely recommend!
Camping near basalt
Pros: Awesome camping scenery, level parking area, clean outhouse, great stargazing, easy access to Aspen/Basalt.
Cons: Close to a roadway with traffic all night, outhouse will not easily accommodate a tall or overweight person.
Road trip to lost lands
Location is amazing. Charming, clean sectioned off campsites with solar fairy lights they keep the space inviting at night. Adirondack chairs w/ table to relax & enjoy the sunset & the babbling Brook that runs through the property. We had an amazing stay. Only thing missing was the bathroom that was in the listing.
It's such a quiet and beautiful retreat. We had the place all to ourselves after labor day, except for visits from deer, waking up to bird songs and the creak is right by the sites. It's also not far from the city of Aspen (about 45 min drive) either. Really nice stop in the Rockies.
