Colorado River Animal Sanctuary

Fun location

Overall, we had a nice experience. I will say that the pictures seemed a little misleading regarding the sanctuary aspect of it as its a much drier and rocky campsite than we thought it would be with a lot of building debris throughout. It was a great place right above the river and the other property next to the campground is lush and green. We were able to sleep in our tent with really thick sleeping pads, but keep in mind that all of the space is Rocky and so best suited for campers. Our kids enjoyed feeding the animals, however, they were not roaming the property as expected. Incredibly close proximity to town to do fun palisade things like the brewery, bike, riding on the country roads and visiting the farmers market on Sunday.

Awesome sight next to the river. Pat was a great host. My children really enjoyed the animals and the sweet dogs who came to visit us at night.

Best birthday weekend ever!

Pat and his friend Walter were amazing hosts and were more than accommodating. All the animals were friendly, cute, and full of personalities. We will definitely return, not just for the animals, but for the hospitable experience.
