This is my private property. I live very close to town and can ride most of the trails straight from the property. It is dry. There is no facilities so be prepared and bring your own. Keep private from residence please. This is VERY unique place, especially in CB. Quiet and wonderful.
This is Mountain Bike Motherland and this property is right in the middle of it.

2.2 miles to town, amazing views
Panoramic views of the valley and mountains surrounding Crested Butte. Full sun, but we had a shade tent that worked perfectly for daytime campsite lounging. The highway is just over a ridge, so it’s out of sight, but you can still hear it - it wasn’t bad at all though. Trash disposal on our way out was a great perk - take the main road out, toward the highway, past the little lakes, then turn into the drive that goes between a corral and a cute little log cabin - it’s in the wooden bin to the left of the wooden shed. We really enjoyed a walk down to the lake shared by the handful of houses on Smith Road. It overlooks Mt. Crested Butte and has two picnic tables and a fire ring. The shores are shallow and have gravel poured a few yards out, making it perfect for the kids to wade around in. There were two more lakes you can check out on Baxter Creek Road too. We enjoyed our stay!
We really enjoyed our stay and would look for this spot again. Perfect location just outside of town with amazing views in every direction. We were concerned that there might be some traffic noise from the highway, but it was very quiet and secluded. Host was responsive and very helpful in choosing a spot to set up our small trailer.
The best camping in crested butte.
What an amazing stay. Pulling in to R's land is like something out of a story book. 360 degree views the moment you pull in to the property.
R gave great instructions on how to get in to the main field you will be staying at. Once there, the world is at your finger tips. The property is in a prime location - having camped in CB a couple times, I think this has to be the best location available if you want to do it all! With only a 10-15 minute bike ride to town (or 5 min drive), you are able to choose from a plethora of things to do!
In our 3 days here - we hit the town for food and drinks, 3 stellar mountain bike trails, the CB bike park, as well as some lakes to cool off. Safe to say we left with our belly and our hearts full!
Speaking of lakes, the icing on the cake was the fact that there are multiple lakes located on Rs property - so be sure to bring a lawn chair and some water toys if you are going to be camping during the spring/summer season!
R is SO friendly and helpful and will make your stay something special. I have camped in Crested Butte a handful of times but I will only be staying at R's plot moving forward!
The perfect spot
The perfect spot close to town. If you are looking for everything Crested Butte has to offer this is the place. Incredible Views, Quiet, beautiful yet only a 7 minute drive into to town. R was an incredible host. Everyone we met was super nice and helpful. Love this place!
