Come explore the changing colors of Fall in the Roaring Fork Valley.  Whether you are hiking Maroon Bells, Capitol Creek, Mushroom Rock, Aspen Mtn, Maroon Bells, Snowmass, or Crystal Mills set up camp in a quiet meadow next to Coulter Creek. The mountainous property with a green grassy valley is in eastern Garfield county in Missouri Heights.  The hills are peppered with sage, gamble oak, and juniper. Sleep along the creek with the sounds of rippling water. Spend the day hiking through the hill looking for arrowheads, elk sheds, and wildflowers. Views of Mt. Sopris, Basalt Mountain, Sunlight, Snowmass, and Cottonwood pass from the several mesas. Easy access to excellent paved roads for biking.

You can tent camp along Coulter Creek in the pasture or in the valley.  These sites are for tents only and all vehicles must be parked along the gated driveway next to the meadow.  There is an outhouse available.  The areas next to the creek are very grassy with a few trees.  There is shade in the valley between the hills as you walk up the creek.  Picnic tables and Adirondack chairs are available along the creek.

Missouri Heights is less than a 30-min drive to Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, or Basalt.  You have access to Glenwood and Iron Mountain Hot Springs, Mountain Fairs and Markets (Carbondale, Basalt, and Aspen), Glenwood Caverns and Adventure Park, Snowmass, Sun Light, Crown Mountain & Mushroom Rock bike trails, Hanging Lake, Maroon Bells, Mt. Sopris, and hiking all over the valley.  World-Class fishing on the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan Rivers, biking the Rio Grande Trail (from Glenwood to Aspen), climbing at the Monkey House in Carbondale, rafting or kayaking on the rivers,

We got there super late but it was still a fun stay! The site is beautiful and comfortable. We heard coyotes, owls, and elk bugling all night which was really relaxing. The host was very friendly when he greeted us in the morning.

Nice place to camp. Both Robert and Angelia were super nice and showed us around when we arrived at the campsite. The place is very peaceful, away from city light and noise pollution.

Such a lush spot! We definitely passed the drive a few times 🤣 there's a large red housing structure on the left I would definitely keep an eye out for that to find the drive. Otherwise a great spot! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice peaceful spot to camp on. Also you MUST stay up and stargaze it's beautiful!!!

This was a good car camping spot for us to do day trips into Aspen. It’s a nice open meadow with plenty of camping spots, would come back.

This site was awesome! The scenery was beautiful, and the Adirondack chairs, picnic tables and outhouse were super nice touches. There was also a lovely trail of lights leading up to the outhouse- very helpful during nighttime! This site was close to a somewhat busy road, but it still felt very peaceful in general.

Thursday and Friday were extremely quiet. We were the only ones on the property, except some baby ducks, and threir momma, and a mule deer. Saturday we were joined by 2 or 3 tent campers. It was still very quiet and could here the creek babbling while the stars came out one by one. Such a quiet and recharging place to stay! Sunday by the time we woke up we realized that ever one else had headed home. Such a peaceful and amazing place! Highly recommend! Unless you want to book when I am then...

Such a quiet and beautiful retreat. My wife and I left the busyness of Denver and 4 kids behind to recharge and disconnect. The creek was so peaceful! So many wildflowers! My wife slept in till 9am while I picked a diverse bouquet of flowers for her.Peaceful, recharging weekend!
