Incredible treetop views await anyone visiting our hanging tent or designated tent site perched atop a wooded plot overlooking Bailey Valley! The property is just outside downtown Bailey, Colorado and 5 miles from Wellington Lake and Guanella Pass. Some highlights are proximity to a plethora of local hiking trails and world-class mountain biking. Visitors can also enjoy fishing, hunting, kayaking / rafting, and wildlife viewing!Pitch your tent on the flat designated spot overlooking Bailey Valley, just a short hike from the outdoor shower and Tree Tent on the property. The site is just outside downtown Bailey, Colorado and 5 miles from Wellington Lake and Guanella Pass. Some highlights are proximity to a plethora of local hiking trails and world-class mountain biking. Visitors can also enjoy fishing, hunting, kayaking / rafting, and wildlife viewing! Getting there: Be prepared to drive on a short but steep dirt road up to this mountaintop gem. All cars can access the lower parking lot less than 1/2 mile from the Tree Tent. For those who are both lazy and have a 4x4 vehicle, you can park right at the bottom of a (though steep) short .1 mile walk from the tent. From there, walk down the trail towards the outdoor shower and composting toilet. The campsite is just down the trail from there.

Mountain View Tent Site
Perfect little spot
This was a perfect spot for a little camping trip! The campsite was quite large which was nice and had a propane fire which was an awesome feature. The outhouse was clean and very much appreciated! The views were great but next time, I’d love to try out the tree camping spot!

Tree Tent!
Fun unique experience
The description is spot on.. super steep and not a ton of flat ground. It was a very cool experience and we really enjoyed our stay in the trees! We did get rain during our stay and we did stay dry. We did leave some of our things on the lower level of the tent that did get a little wet so definitely check the weather before leaving your bags down there. That was our bad for not checking weather. The outhouse was cool and we did take a bucket shower!! It was cold but kinda fun lol You do get a very secluded feel up there and a nice view from your tent. We also really enjoyed the smoke house, coffee shop and outdoor store a few miles up the road in the town of Bailey.

Tree Tent!
They said it was steep, but....
Memorable, to say the least! Unique & charming! Although we never saw the hosts, you can tell they tried to create a great spot for campers. We were attracted because it looked close to home and simple - wanting to cram in another quick/easy getaway, but that's not really what this is To have the best time at the tree-tent, best to adjust expectations. They're clear about it being a slope, we'd not taken practicality into consideration: Bring carabiners & storage bins! The slope is real; & Tree-Tent is akin to sleeping on a trampoline or hammock: - Do-able, if you're okay waking up in a friend-pile in the center, along with any of your flashlights and things - in/out of the tent is 'bouncy' at best: impossible to tuck in kids and just step out to stargaze or go to the outhouse when everyone is asleep - nothing stays where you put it, getting things in and out of the tent is difficult. Every time you move, all your stuff will come rolling to you unless it's secured to the tent by carabiner. All slopes to the heaviest person - nowhere else weather-protected to put things - anything that rolls off the edge of the tent (or just set down water bottles/flashlights etc) may just continue down the mountainside! Rolled-up sleeping bags and flashlights can really GO! - getting your things to/from the site is difficult, and leaving food there seems unwise too. Steep slope means there isnt a lot of level surface that's 'work-able' for cooking, or even just changing clothes.

Tree Tent!
Fun!
Amazing. Such a good experience. The kids were so excited. It gets cold so prepare for that. A little steep to get up but maybe my cardio just needs to be improved. Will definitely be back!

Mountain View Tent Site
We had both the tree tent and this site. Having both sites proved valuable because while the tree tent is very cool, it’s a very steep climb. This site doesn’t require the same climb. Nice site with a propane-powered pit.
