And -- typical of wintertime in the Rocky Mountains, you will be able to enjoy snow -- maybe snowshoeing, X-Country skiing, sledding or even skiing at Monarch or Breck (~1hour away).
Like most mountain folk, please be of a hearty nature, as it will be chilly when you arrive, but will warm up as soon as you get the fire going.
It might snow before/during/after your arrival. We have a snowplow service to keep the driveway nice and manageable. That said, there will be only case-by-case refunds for cancellations due to bad weather (e.g., blizzard conditions, road closures, etc.).
Please note... there is NO RUNNING WATER until mid-May. This means no toilet (bring a portapotty!) and bring your own water. Some HipCampers don't mind, but we don't want any surprises!
Then, looking at summer 2021, reservations are open now. HAPPY GLAMPING!

This cozy 672 sq. ft. 2-bedroom cottage (sleeps 6 -- 2 queens, 2 twins) in beautiful Jefferson, Colorado, is halfway between Bailey and Fairplay and just minutes away from fishing at Tarryall Reservoir.
A 90-minute drive from west Denver, this cute cabin is nestled on 4 private acres and is located just one mile from Hwy 77 and Stagestop Road in a very secluded and quiet neighborhood surrounded by meadows, pine and aspen trees. In addition, the cabin is less than 5 minutes away from national forest -- so bring your ATVs!
This private cottage, which is furnished, highlights the following:
** Sweeping views of southern and western mountain ranges including Mt. Baldy and Mt. Princeton
** Full size refrigerator, stove/oven, auto coffee maker, toaster oven, and blender (but no microwave!)
** Blackout shades in both bedrooms
** 4 Beds
--> Queen bed in master bedroom
--> Queen bed (under twin bunk) and twin antique bed in guest bedroom. Note that the person/child sleeping on upper bunk should weigh no more than 110 pounds.
** Wrap-around deck
** 4 chairs and round iron table on deck to enjoy outdoor evenings, sunsets and sunrises! Two camp chairs can be found inside in case you have more than 4 campers.
** 2 Lounge chairs for sunbathing and relaxing
** Vintage wood stove for cozy heat (bring wood or feel free to gather dead, dry wood and sticks from property)
** Private entrance and driveway
Pricing is currently set to BRING YOUR OWN LINENS -- sheets, sleeping bags, pillows, bath and kitchen towels, but if you want us to supply linens, contact me first, as we have to follow COVID guidelines.
NOTE -- this cabin, while updated and very comfy, is "rustic" in terms that it does not have WIFI and you'll want to bring your own water to drink. Also, reliable cell phone reception is not guaranteed. Verizon seems to work fine... from the deck!
Please note that this cabin is located in the foothills and you will see wildlife activity -- mostly chipmunks. However, we have a neighbor bear (lock your car!), lots of chipmunks, squirrels, bobcats, field mice, and sometimes a stray dog or cat. Some "glampers" are admittedly afraid of chipmunks and mice, so if you're queasy at the site of one of these little furry guys, our cabin might not be your best option. As for bears, just lock your car and keep food and trash INSIDE until you leave.
Some house rules to note before you rent: No smoking (fire danger!), no drugs, no cats. Two dogs are allowed -- but please make sure they are safe -- we have bears and bobcats!
If star-gazing isn't your thing, bring your own DVDs to watch on the HDTV and lounge on the comfy loveseat and chairs.

What a great place! Perfect location. Easy to access multiple trails and an easy drive to Breckenridge for a quick day trip. Porch was perfect for hanging out, what an amazing view. Beds were comfy. Wood burning stove with plenty of wood supplied for those chilly mornings. I wanted a place to come for a few days to get away from Denver and this place was perfect. I will be back!

Great location near Lost Creek Wilderness. Wood stove was an extra bonus.
Second trip up here. Just as good as the first time. Had one chilly day so I used the wood burning stove. It made the cabin nice and toasty. Great deck to watch the sunset.

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was cozy with all the amenities to make our stay comfortable yet far enough away that we could feel like we were escaping the city. The drive up to the cabin is absolutely beautiful and the fresh air and sweeping views from the front porch make this place a real gem. The place served as a great home base for mountain biking and hiking at Kenosha pass. We only wished that we had brought our fishing poles!
We had so much fun cooking dinner and playing games, then heading down to the Saloon for a drink. We will definitely be back. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in the fall when all the Aspens have turned. Can't wait for our next visit!

I was very pleased with my experience. The cabin was more than described and very comfortable for my family of four. We had a lot of fun!
Marilee's cabin in the mountains was the perfect weekend getaway! The cabin was supplied with all necessary amenities and made for a relaxing retreat. The location was perfect, being somewhat secluded on a beautiful mountain top. The sunrises and sunsets could be easily seen from the cabin's porch. Many hiking and outdoor options just a short drive away for when the weather was nice. The cabin had an outdoor fire pit and was stocked with wood as well which made an excellent addition for late-night hanging out under the stars. Even with some rain, we kept ourselves busy with movies and games that were at the residence. Great experience overall, would definitely recommend to friends and family wanting to get out west and spend time in the mountains!
What an incredible location! We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the views and the amenities in the house.
Amazing cabin with amazing views. Extremely accommodating for our small family. Will definitely return.
This cabin was perfect for our stay in the mountains! The kids loved roasting marshmallows in the wood burning stove and the sight of the snowy peaks to the west was breathtaking! The beds were comfortable to sleep in and the cabin itself was cozy, yet still had just enough space for all five of us! We loved exploring the land around us and my husband said it was reminiscent of his childhood staying in their old mountain cabin. We made so many wonderful memories here and the kids are already asking when we can go back!
