Camp 1985
This cozy cabin is a must repeat!
My husband and I came to camp 85 for spring break and it was wonderful! Our dog loved being able to stretch his legs and run around, although we did see a neighbors/stray dog roaming around nearby so be aware if you have a furry friend. The cabin is close to so many attractions that we didnât even have time to see it all in our 4 night stay! Here are a few highlights and things we learned after our trip, and we will definitely be coming back in the summer!
The wood-burning stove kept us nice and warm despite the temps dropping to nearly 0° a few nights on our trip, but be sure to bring an ax because not much of the firewood was short enough to go in the stove (so we foraged our own from fallen dead limbs on the ground nearby).
There is literally no service for miles so make sure to screenshot or print out any driving directions you plan to need if you donât have an actual map (there are a few in a binder in the cabin). We went to eleven mile reservoir, royal gorge bridge, garden of the gods, and pikes peak (the closest place that has reliable service is Florissant). There is a Walmart, Safeway, Walgreens, and much more about 30 mins away on US-24 if you forget anything
The roads are very well maintained, and the entire drive from Denver to camp 85 was a piece of cake for our jeep in late march (you could easily do it in a smaller sedan w/o AWD).

The Most Peaceful Getaway
Best weekend getaway! The sky looked like it couldnât fit more stars, beautiful is an understatement. This is not glamping and I wouldnât change anything about it. Just perfect. The hubby couldnât use his phone for work so this was great lolâŚâŚ nothing but us and nature!!

Simple space, beautiful place
Camp 85 was the perfect spot for a solo weekend away! It is exactly what it looks like - no frills but in a beautiful place. I loved that I could hike right out the door into national forest. I opted for no generator because I wanted to keep it simple and it worked out great. Better than a tent but still roughing it. If that's what you're looking for, you'll be a happy camper just like me!

Authentic "off the grid" camping
I loved my stay at Camp 1985! This is a beautiful piece of land that backs right up to the National Forest. There is tons of space to roam and explore, and the views are spectacular. The generator was a great add on to be able to charge devices throughout the day. I didn't have any phone service with AT&T, which was honestly perfect! Thanks for a wonderful stay, CJ.

Camp 1985
This was an amazing spot! Just the right amount of secluded, yet very accessible. There is great hiking just out the front door, and it feels very private despite a view other properties in view. Definitely would go back again.
