Staying in Julietta’s Tipi camp was great! We had plenty of space in our Tipi for our belongings and pups! There are three tipis on the property so you aren’t alone, but the yard has enough space for privacy! We liked the fact that it had an outhouse and there’s an option to use showers which is nice! Great options for stargazing, hiking, and more! A fire pit allowed us to cook our meals and chat with neighbors (it’s communal)! All In all, we would stay again!
Great stay with a great view.
There are the perfect hammock trees across the fence where the horses are. We tied up our personal hammocks and watched the horses.
Definitely would recommend for a relaxing get away.
Very quiet and beautiful.
Great place to stay if you’re looking for quiet remote out of town style Tipis. It rained hard a few times but the Tipis were excellent in keeping us dry. The beds were very comfortable and the sleep was deep. Our host Julietta was great and her kids were well mannered. Every morning we walked into the rest of the property where her horses grazed and petted them as they roamed free, they are very friendly and love back scratches. She runs some type of training for young kids every day with the horses which would explain why they are such friendly horses. The local town of Paonia is two minutes away and Hotchkiss is only ten minutes further. Ice for coolers is close and reasonable in price at the local gas station Conoco. There are many different things to do in every direction from this area so we used it as our center location. The stars at night in this remote location are very exceptional in view. Showers are gravity fed bags that warm during the day but we brought an electric Big Kahuna 5gal that runs from a cigarette lighter and we heated our own water with a kettle but water is provided and a sink on site for dishes. The price per night is very affordable if you live conservatively with your check book. Local laundromat is expensive 3.50 a load so I suggest you look in Hotchkiss first if you have wash. There’s a Napa auto parts in town and tire shop if you need any small repairs. There’s a river walk that’s nice right in Paonia as well. We loved it! Thx Julietta!!!
