Other Details and Considerations:➢ We are a family Hip Camp with children, pets (two dogs and a cat), and neighbors (about 275 feet away)➢ Road Noise -- We live close to Highway 154, which means we are close and quick to many places but also hear some traffic noise from this two-lane road. Please take this into consideration before booking. Most people aren’t too bothered by it (and some compare the sound to waves as they come and go).➢ FIRE BAN -- Absolutely no fire! We live in an extremely high-risk fire area with very dry vegetation, so no campfires, candles, smoking, incense, lighters, matches, etc. ➢ Arrival and departure -- Arrival between 5-8 pm. Departure by 3:00 pm. ➢ Quiet hours -- Very quiet from 10:30pm to 7:30am, Semi quiet in the evening from 9:00-10:30 and in the morning till 8:00 am. Thank you for your consideration of others and of our neighbors.➢ Musical instruments, or music—Live music is greatly welcomed! Playing pre-recorded music on devices is allowed if the volume is low and is used in consideration of others and during non-quiet hours.➢ Intoxicants -- Please no illegal drugs or excessive use of legal substances.➢ Parking – We have a somewhat bumpy driveway that is quite steep. Most cars are able to drive up, but very low cars are not recommended. If you have a very low car, you can contact me to see if I can accommodate with a farther parking arrangement during the time of your desired stay. ➢ Children – We love to have children come ☺ Be aware that we are on a mountain, therefore there are slopes where small children/toddlers will need to be watched carefully.

Fairy wonder dome!
What a charming hideaway! We loved our retreat in the geo dome in the hills above Santa Barbara. Zela was very communicative in advance, and Mila met us immediately on arrival for a quick orientation. The string lights contributed to a magical ambiance at night. The beds in the sleeping loft were very cozy warm (I burrowed in, while my guys tossed off covers as necessary. Although we brought sleeping bags these were not needed). The composting toilet frankly had the best view and was easily accessed from the dome. Note there is sound from Hwy 154 nearby but nothing jarring. There's another more rustic campsite up the slope, but we didn't see anyone until morning when they walked by; we had sufficient privacy. I appreciated the late checkout time which allowed us to linger for a relaxed Sunday breakfast. We enjoyed our quick retreat and would happily return.
The geodome itself and the location in the Santa Barbara Mountains is SO beautiful. Zela has made the dome into a super cozy, amazingly decorated mini home right out of a travel magazine. Unfortunately there was a power outage (which apparently happens sometimes in the area) and the electricity out for the entirety of our stay, so we could not turn on any lights or use refrigerator, stove, outlets, etc. But the host did offer a partial refund and provided candles at night so that we were not completely in the dark. Despite this, I would definitely recommend the geodome to anyone and would gladly stay again! Super special experience, especially being able to see shooting stars at night and pick fresh fruit off the trees for breakfast in the morning. Thanks Zela!
