Soul kitchen / secret garden
I can’t say enough about what a wonderful stay we had at Wendy and John’s. First of all, the property was heavenly. Beautifully maintained and spacious, we slept peacefully to the sound of the ocean and owls under the stars. We were even able to upgrade our stay to their cozy new heated tent - be sure to book their site “Base Camp Ready” to save time with set up and sleep like a baby! Next, the location was ideal. Nestled down a country road in a quaint town, yet a stones throw from hundreds of old growth redwood forest hikes and national parks. Finally and most importantly, our hosts were inspiring individuals and passionate cooks. Our favorite part of our stay was enjoying the dinners they prepared. What more beautiful a way to learn about a place and the people there than through food. Needless to say, we can’t wait to come back and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did - give Louis the pup a big scratch for us.
This was our second time staying at Wuss camp. Wendy and John charmed us again and even upgraded what makes wuss camp so special! We ordered homemade soup and bread every night because it was so delicious. It allowed our family of five to explore the area and return to our camp sight and to simply enjoy the fire while enjoying that a fresh meal had been prepared. And the kids lived Wendy’s potato celery soup! The area is picturesque at every hour of the day, both on their property and in the surrounding areas. Their dog Loui also gave us a tour into their forested property. The beach is also a walk away. We will be back. And now they are even offering glamming in their open field. We are strongly considering that option next time as it has a sturdy tent on a wooden platform already set up with a bed and heater. Not to mention showers and toilets close by dedicated to the glamming area. It is all the best of camping with just enough comfort! We love what Wuss camp has to offer and we will be back again! Thank for another great stay!
Most amazing place. Close to beach as stated. Wendy is the best host. Very welcoming and talking to her very intetesting background. Wusscamp was very welcomed after mote than 2 weeks of traveling. Hot shower restored me like day at the spa. Even took advantage of laundry and ready for another 2 weeks on the road. Ferndale is a neat little town with Victorian buildings and sweet shops. Looks like main street of Disneyland. Fabulous.
Ocean, forest, and kind hosts.
Creekside Wuss Camp was a wonderful stay for us. We parked our teardrop trailer under the apple trees and next to the creek. From there, we looked across the large field to the distant trees. The bathroom and shower were nearby. And, more than anything, we enjoyed talking with our hosts and playing with their great dog.
Wonderful place to stay
Our stay was wonderful. Wendy and John were very welcoming and Louie (their dog) was very sweet. The location is very close to a great beach. They have a bathroom and shower inside so it really is glamping. There's one campsite right by the house and a couple more across the field if you want a bit more space. Would absolutely come back when we get the chance.
What a magical place!
My boyfriend, our dog, and I camped here for three nights and it was absolutely perfect. There was lots of space for us to spread out our things, a beautiful view of their extensive property, and plenty of shade underneath the apple trees. John and Wendy were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Don’t sleep on the add-ons, John makes some delicious breads and coffee! We fell asleep to the sound of the ocean, and woke up to the moo of the neighbors cows. I loved trying to identify all the birds flying around the campsite. And let’s not forget the little guy, Louie, John and Wendy’s dog. Perhaps he kept comin around because we had a lot of dog treats…or maybe he just loved us. Who’s to say. Let’s call him the icing on the cake of an already perfect stay.
