A hipcamp gem
This was my girlfriends first time camping and I wanted to make it special. Wendy and John helped make it exactly that. Everything was set up perfectly for us and communication was excellent. One of the highlights of the trip was Wendy spontaneously inviting us to the deck for homemade blueberry pancakes (she had extra) and coffee. We enjoyed the beautiful view of her property and beyond from the deck. The property is absolutely stunning and it couldn't be in a better location. It's a mile or less from the ocean, close to town, and near beautiful trails too. This place has our highest recommendation.
2 adults, an 11 year old, & a pup!
Tent camping at HAZELWOOD was fantastic! So calm, green, and cool. Hosts were so kind, and the facilities were adorably rustic. We played on the coast, saw a zebra, and explored the redwoods. I highly suggest adding some of their extras! Well worth it!
This is such a wonderful place! From the moment Wendy opened the door, you could sense how warm and welcoming Hazelwood is. Expect the opposite of private campsites where the campers are an unwanted - but paying - nuisance. Here, campers are welcomed with open arms full of warm bread and fresh coffee. The stay is a like a perfect English campsite, complete with oaks, plenty of wood, fire pits and cute bathrooms.
Camping with kids!
What a spot! It’s just serene and beautiful. Our family loved our time at Hazelwood. Close to the beach (super short drive) and beautiful hikes. Clean and private campsite with a fantastic fire pit, table and chairs, and right by a small creek. Nestled under beautiful alder trees. Open fields for play as well. Warm showers and sink for washing dishes. Hosts are warm, kind and helpful. Great place for family and larger groups!
