The Lookout, The Wheelhouse, The Tugboat, the Tower of Power, the Poop Deck: everyone wants to call this place something silly and unique, but one thing is for sure, this place is a glorious place to sleep.

Built on a large platform creating shade for our solar-power-generating shipping container, Hipcampers walk up a flight of stairs to enjoy 360 views of much of the farm's infrastructure as well as the undeveloped woods. All of the materials this cabin is built from tell a delightful story of creativity and ecological sustainability. This place screams off-grid.

Windows are removed during the summer half of the year, and wall panels fold out of the way to maximize airflow and still guarantee privacy. There is even a small electrical outlet so campers can charge their devices or enjoy a little nighttime reading. There is a super comfortable full sized bed, and additional campers should bring a tent or tarp to sleep on, and bedding to spread out on the flat area just below the platform.

Folks have access to our outdoor shower and composting toilet that are located in a main part of the farm.

We ask campers to please avoid hanging out by the solar panels the cabin looks out onto, as they are fragile and important, and the location is not protected from falls.

Matt and Eve's place is absolutely adorable and homey, yet outdoorsy and fun! Upon arrival, I had the pleasure of helping with the chores, including some baby boat snuggles. Later, we all ended up at the communal kitchen area and enjoyed the conversation and swapping stories. My sleep in the Lookout on a chilly summer night was oh-so-cozy with an extra blanket, a gentle breeze, and twinkling stars.

Staying at the Lookout was such an awesome experience, and Matt and Eve were excellent hosts. We used it as a base camp for Yosemite but honestly I’d come back just to hang out on the farm! 100% recommend this place.

Wondernut Farm is a truly special place to stay and it is very hard to do this place justice with words alone. Matt, Eve and their fellow community members have clearly spent a lot of time making this site the special place it is. It was a pleasure hanging out with everyone in the lovely communal kitchen in the evening and we would definitely recommend staying for more than one night if you can. Views from the lookout are spectacular, and the room itself is cozy and clean. The whole site feels well maintained and safe; protected by their gang of lovely doggos. The site is large, and we even got to help rounding up the sheep and goats. The hosts show a genuine interest in getting to know their guests and sharing their stories. Absolutely beautiful.

Matt and Eve's farm was super cool. You could definitely see all the work and thoughtful touches they put into building it! The space has fun vibe and other guests were super friendly as well. We were able to play with the goats when we arrived during feeding time as well. Although our stay was short, we would come back just to hang out. Also, Pootopia is an experience that one should definitely try out

Wondernut was the best Hipcamp I've been to! The amenities were fantastic...after several days of camping I was looking forward to a shower and a bed, but thought I'd have to pull out the rest of my camping gear. I was SO HAPPY to discover the wonderful communal space with fridge/freezer/pantry space, cooking and eating dishes, counter space to prep food, big sinks and drying racks for washing, ample burners on the stoves. There was couch seating, tables, and hammocks and it just generally felt like home.

The Lookout itself was simple and comfortable and private. I had my 1 year old with me so was trapped up there for hours after babybedtime. I propped open the doors and opened the windows and had a lovely breeze and was able to watch a nice sunset. I had a strong WiFi connection. Sleep was quiet and deep.

There is no potty situation up there, and I drank a lot of tea while I was passing the hours between baby bedtime and mama bedtime. I could have snuck down the steps to squat at the bottom, but I was prepared with my pee funnel so enjoyed peeing off the porch like a dude, haha.

The composting toilet was clean and easy to understand, even if you are a novice. I've seen some complicated ones, but this one was super straightforward and you can poo with a view!

The shower also had a lovely view and the water was nice and hot with good pressure. Do watch your step in there...toddler took a slip on the tile while playing around. I had no trouble as a sure-footed adult.

Matt and Eve were wonderful host and made me feel at home. They showed me around their farm and shared wonderful conversations about their experience living there. I genuinely wish I stayed here longer because the surrounding areas were so beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend staying at the lookout if you enjoy those quiet country nights and beautiful sunrises in the morning.

AMAZING, VERY INTERACTIVE STAY! Matt and Eve were incredibly welcoming and inclusive hosts. This is a very unique opportunity to see what living on a sustainable farm is all about.

Matt ALWAYS took the time to stop and talk to us, tell us about the farm, their sustainability measures, etc. We got to play with, hold and look at so many baby animals (and grown animals), and we were lucky enough to be there when an adorable baby goat was born!

I have been to so many hipcamps and this was definitely the most interactive one. If you want to see a bunch of cute animals, learn about farm life and sustainability, and have an all around great time with the hosts and their wonderful WOOFers - look no further! We will 100% be back. Matt & Eve thank you so much for sharing your beautiful land!
